Coach Vonzel is one of the dedicated instructors here at Gracie Barra Lake Norman, and we are proud to have him as part of our team.

What makes a great instructor goes far beyond knowing Jiu-Jitsu. It’s about leadership, character, responsibility, and being a positive example for our students — on and off the mats. Seeing Coach Vonzel alongside his son is a perfect reminder that Jiu-Jitsu is also about family and leading by example.

At GB Lake Norman, we take the quality and safety of our instruction seriously. Our instructors participate in the Gracie Barra Instructor Certification Program (ICP), an extensive training process designed to prepare them to teach according to Gracie Barra’s standards and methodology. Our team also completes important requirements including background checks and First Aid/CPR training.

We are proud of the team we are building and grateful for instructors like Coach Vonzel who represent our values every day.
