CH SNOW The mission of CH SNOW is to provide visitors and residents of Copper Harbor with a genuine U.P. winter experience. Look for trail updates here!

The End of The Road Trails are now fully supported by the Copper Harbor Trails Club. In cooperation with The Nature Conservancy, East Bluff Bike Park and Campground, and the Michigan DNR. We now have new grooming equipment and a master plan to expand this are over the next few years. This is the map of what we will be grooming this year. Unfortunately, with the low snow, we are currently only grooming East Bluff Road and The East Bluff Campground Loop but that could change fast with more snow. Trails are open to skate and classic skiers, fat-bikes, and snowshoes. Check keweenawtrails.com for the latest grooming. Think Snow!!

TGIF and the snow is finally here!

This weekend we recommend you check out the beautifully groomed trails for classic xcskiing and snowshoeing at the Fort Wilkins State Park and at the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge. The Pines is open for breakfast take-out and Mariner is open for lunch and dinner take-out. KML has coffee, take-out, and various equipment rental available! The Gas Lite General Store - The Genny also has snowshoes available for rental.

As for the end of 41 towards Horseshoe and East Bluff~ its not groomed right now but has a good base for any adventure! Entrance to Phase One of the Point Trail is about a 15min. walk/snowshoe from the end of the Hwy., Horseshoe Harbor is a good 2 miles from parking. We are sorry it’s not groomed this weekend but in Copper Harbor we try to look out for our neighbors... and, well, a neighbor needed to borrow our groomer snowmobile for work the past couple weeks so we haven’t been able to groom the end of 41... but, it’s still gorgeous and we will take up grooming again as soon as we can!

Now, get out there and recharge!!

We are at it again for 2021! Although mother-nature hasn't blessed us with her usual bounty, we are trying to make the most of it up here at the end of the road!

If you have a fatbike, there is currently limitless exploring to be had on the forest roads and trails in town.

*A FRIENDLY PSA THAT RIDING FATBIKES ON BROCKWAY MOUNTAIN IS NOT ADVISED. IT IS AN OPEN SNOWMOBILE TRAIL, PLEASE STICK TO OUR OTHER FAT-FRIENDLY TRAILS*

1/10/2021 Grooming Report:
-Fort Wilkins Trails: Groomed Daily. Thin conditions so no track but firm and smooth for fatbikes or snowshoes!
-Trails End Campround Loop: Groomed for snowshoes or fatbikes, no tracks.
-Horseshoe Harbor / Camp Manitou Loop: Groomed last week to Horseshoe Parking Lot. The main roads are still seeing vehicle traffic but it is nice and firm for fatbiking or walking/hiking. A few trucks have packed it down past the Horseshoe lot, not sure how far but if you find out let me know!
-East Bluff Rd: Groomed Saturday 1/9 for skate and classic and firm enough for fatbikes! Stellar conditions for skate skiing on East Bluff Road given the snow levels. East Bluff single track is also a great place to snowshoe given it holds a bit more snow .
-Mountain Lodge: Grooming frequently, check Keweenaw Mountain Lodge for more details.

Everything is firm and occasionally a bit icy. Fatbiking would be the weapon of choice until we get more snow!

All trails are open to skis, fat-bikes and snowshoes.
Remember to be prepared and tell someone where you are going.

Stay tuned here for updates and get out there!
