🌟 Member of the Month: Tien! 🌟
If you know Tien, you already know why he was an easy choice.
He’s genuinely one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Always smiling. Always encouraging. Always the first to make someone feel welcome. Whether you’re a brand-new member walking through the doors or you’ve been here for years, Tien has a way of making you feel like you’re part of the family.
One of the perks of retirement? We get to see him around the gym a lot… and yes, that often includes him ditching the shirt. 😂

Huge news. We’ve been looking for a new coach to help people with their mobility and maybe win a few local rec leagues. He’s a bit older, kind of a rookie in the CrossFit world, but we think this ‘LeBron’ kid has real potential. Show him some love when you see him wiping down the rowers. 🏋️♂️👑

Today’s strength session was all about building real, usable upper-body strength. 💪
Strict Press develops overhead strength, shoulder stability, and core engagement—everything you need for stronger jerks, handstand work, and safer lifting overhead.
Pairing that with weighted strict pull-ups challenges the opposite movement pattern, building your lats, upper back, grip, and pulling power without relying on momentum. The result? Better posture, healthier shoulders, and more control in gymnastics movements.
Today’s EMOM kept the intensity high while giving just enough recovery to move quality weight every round. Ten rounds later… shoulders pumped, lats lit up, grip smoked, and a reminder that strength is earned one quality rep at a time.
Sometimes the best training isn’t about racing the clock—it’s about getting stronger so everything else becomes easier.

There’s something special about watching someone grow from athlete to coach.
We’re excited to officially welcome John to the CrossFit Cabarrus coaching staff!
For years, John has been a consistent presence in our community, leading by example with his work ethic, humility, and willingness to learn. Over the past month, he’s been intentionally preparing for this role…studying, shadowing classes, and refining the details that make great coaching great.
If there’s one thing that stands out about John, it’s his attention to detail and his accountability. He doesn’t cut corners, he values doing things the right way, and he’s always looking for ways to improve. Those qualities make him the perfect fit to help our members move better, train smarter, and reach their goals.
At CrossFit Cabarrus, we believe coaching is about more than leading a workout….it’s about serving people, building relationships, and creating an environment where everyone can succeed. John already embodies that, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him on the coaching team.
