We have been getting a lot of questions about the new Gibson Village Skate Park and Pump Track. The master plan was presented to Concord City Council on July 7th and this is the video of the complete presentation starting at time code 21:04. Once this project is closer to completion, we plan to provide support to the cycling and skating community with bikes, parts, service, and even skate equipment. It has been a long time coming, but we are excited to see this new park come alive.

We will be closed July 4th and our shop ride will be considered a Show N Go (which means no official leader). BUT! Our man Jesus will be riding Saturday 8am, but there may not be enough leaders to split distances, so be sure you know the route if you choose to ride.

What an awesome day! We had a great time supporting the 90+ ladies who came out for the inaugural We Shred CLT. It was really nice to see everyone coming out and supporting each other on and off the trails. We could definitely feel the positive energy from beginning to end even in the heat later in the day. Kudos to Caroline and her crew for a well organized event. Ladies, keep this one on your radar for the future.

Summer rides just hit different ☀️
The early morning rollouts.
The extra-long route home.
The café stop that somehow turns into
another 20 miles.
The Avail Advanced is built for the days you don't want to end. Comfortable enough for all-day adventures, efficient enough for big climbs, and capable enough for whatever road catches your eye along the way.
Because the best summer rides always seem to go a little farther than planned.

When most people see rust or corrosion on a bicycle, they assume it was neglected or left out in the rain. While that's certainly a common cause, there's another culprit that often goes unnoticed: sweat.
The photo shown here is the inside of a bottom bracket shell, where the crank spindle passes through the frame. The material visible isn't dirt or rust - it's a thick accumulation of salt crystals that formed inside the frame after years of indoor riding. Left unchecked, this buildup can trap moisture, accelerate corrosion, and permanently damage internal components.
Human perspiration can be surprisingly corrosive. Over time, sweat can work its way into a bicycle's frame and components, leading to seized bearings, frozen seatposts, corroded hardware, and other expensive problems. If you're someone who sweats heavily—especially if your riding clothes are covered in a white, salty residue after a ride—your bike may be at greater risk.
Take a close look at areas where sweat tends to collect, particularly around the headset, stem, top tube, and where it can run down into the seat tube. Indoor training is especially hard on bikes because there's no airflow to evaporate perspiration. If you spend a lot of time on the trainer, use a sweat guard or towel to catch perspiration, and always wipe your bike down after each ride.
