This week's spotlight goes to a team that's never been afraid to... swing big. 😉 Give it up for The Big Ol Hitties!

Their name might get a laugh (or a double take), but their impact on our league is no joke. Since joining us in 2022, the Big Ol Hitties have been a consistent part of what makes our LGBTQ+ softball community so special. They've shown up season after season with enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and plenty of big hits—on and off the field.

We appreciate their commitment to growing our league by welcoming and bringing in new players.

So here's to the team with the unforgettable name and a knack for making an impression. Keep crushing it, Big Ol Hitties—we're lucky to have you as part of our league family! 💙🥎🏳️‍🌈

🍑🥎Team of the Week: Flying Bootys 🥎🍑

Years in League: Origins back to Early 90s

The Flying Bootys have an incredible legacy that traces all the way back to the early 90s as “Gyles and Dolls”, proudly sponsored by the late Hall of Famer, Gyles Bruin.

In the 2010s, Daddy Dale entered the chat and stepped up to sponsor the team with Old Street Saloon. Fast forward to 2022 and they underwent the ultimate glow-up to the Flying Bootys we know and love today!!

The Bootys have many first place league finishes and traveled to Indy last year and were Top 5, just finishing outside of trophy contention and we hope to see them at future tournaments soon!!

Congratulations to our Rainbow Warriors who traveled to Nashville for the Music City Classic in a stacked 29 team tournament (D Division). They battled hard in the excessive heat and went 3-3 for the weekend, battling through the losers bracket today, ultimately falling short and coming in tied for 12th.

🐷🥎Team of the Week: The Flyers 🥎🐷

This week’s spotlight shines bright on the Flyers! Since their off-season rebrand, this squad has truly proven that pigs CAN fly. With an experienced and dedicated team they bring unmatched energy and talent to the field every single week!

As a proud and long term member of our league the Flyers (previously Broadway Monkeys) have become a staple of our league and first qualifying team to represent our league and city at the 2023 Gay Softball World Series in Minneapolis. Last year they placed 7th which was our highest finish at the GSWS. They have also represented the league at a number of tournaments over the years (too many to count) and won at Detroit, Knoxville, Indy and Atlanta to name a few.

The team looks back and thanks our prior players, managers, and sponsors, specifically Doug Wainscott and Randy Bridges for building this amazing team to what it is still is today!

Session 2 Starts Tonight!!

It's official, RCSL is sending a record FOUR teams to the Gay Softball World Series!! Since Cincinnati (RCSL) joined International Pride Softball in 2023 we have only sent 1 team to the previous three series as we continued to build our league and give our teams more exposure to tournaments in the region.

Congratulations to our teams as they travel to the GSWS Columbus in September! We know you'll make us proud 🥎

Team of the Week: Queen City Vice 🌴

Queen City Vice has gone by several team names over the years, and has continued to grow and build upon itself over time.

QCV is proud to be a part of the River City Softball League, and loves that they get to participate in continuing to strengthen the support of the LGBTQIA+ community in Cincinnati!

The first session came down to the wire with QCV narrowly missing out on the championship due to tiebreaker rules. They also finished second place in last year’s end of season tournament, and they’re looking to return to the championship again this year.

QCV prides itself on lifting its players, and picking each other up whenever they’re down.

They have yet to travel out of town for a tournament, but are looking forward to the Cincy Showdown this fall!

Their manager, Jeff, would also like to shout out their adoring super fans comprised of our team’s loved ones that support us in our passion/hobby!
