Columbus Mavericks Hockey Club

The Columbus Mavericks organization would like to take a moment to thank and wish the best of luck to Jim Schwinne for his tireless efforts and support. Over the years, Jim has been a Jack of all trades handling any and every task thrown his way. Jim has announced his “hockey retirement” and will leave big shoes to fill.

“There aren’t enough thank you’s or words to describe what Jim’s time here has meant to not only the team, but to my family and I.” Said Mavericks President Joey Recktenwald “Nearly 10 years of my coaching career have been spent with Jim as my team manager, and I’ve been spoiled to get that much time with him. I’m excited for him to have some much needed time with his wife Michelle, and to enjoy following his son Jimmy’s coaching career at Ohio University.”

We look forward to seeing Jim as a fan in the 2026-27 season!

The Columbus Mavericks are proud to announce the NCDC promotion and re-signing of 2006 center Ethan Dufour.

A reliable two-way center, Dufour is known for his strong hockey IQ, faceoff ability, and consistency in all three zones. His combination of skating, compete level, and playmaking ability allows him to drive play offensively while maintaining a responsible presence away from the puck.

In 2025–26, Dufour played Premier for the Columbus Mavericks, where he continued to establish himself as an important piece of the lineup. His ability to control the pace of play, create scoring opportunities, and contribute in key situations made him a dependable player in all areas of the ice.

Dufour’s return brings experience, leadership, and versatility to the Mavericks’ forward group heading into the upcoming season. Head Coach Kyle Althen said, “Ethan is a player who competes hard every shift and plays the game the right way. His hockey sense, work ethic, and ability to contribute in all situations make him an important part of our team. We’re excited to have him back with our group and look forward to seeing his continued growth within our program.”

The Columbus Mavericks are proud to announce the signing of 2008 forward Nils Rudholm.

A dynamic offensive forward, Rudholm is known for his high-end skill, creativity with the puck, and ability to generate scoring chances. His combination of skating ability, hockey IQ, and finishing touch makes him a constant offensive threat and a player capable of changing the game every time he steps on the ice.

Rudholm joins the Mavericks after showcasing his offensive upside and playmaking ability at the u18 level. His knack for finding open ice, creating opportunities for teammates, and producing in key moments makes him an exciting addition to the Mavericks’ forward group heading into the upcoming season.

Rudholm’s signing brings skill, speed, and offensive firepower to the Mavericks’ lineup. Head Coach Kyle Althen said, “Nils is an extremely talented offensive player with the ability to create something every shift. His hockey sense, skill, and scoring ability make him a player we’re excited to add to our program. We look forward to helping him continue his development and reach his full potential with the Mavericks.”
