The Columbus Mavericks are proud to announce the NCDC promotion of 2006 forward Ethan Alexander.

A dynamic two-way forward, Alexander is known for his strong skating ability, high compete level, and ability to create offense in all situations. His combination of speed, hockey IQ, and relentless work ethic allows him to impact the game on both sides of the puck while consistently driving play through the neutral and offensive zones.

In 2025–26, Alexander played Premier for the Columbus Mavericks, where he continued to showcase his versatility and ability to contribute in key moments throughout the season. His combination of pace, physical engagement, and offensive instincts made him a reliable presence in all three zones and an important piece of the Mavericks lineup.

Alexander’s promotion brings energy, skill, and developmental upside to the Mavericks’ forward group heading into the upcoming season. Head Coach Kyle Althen said, “Ethan is a player who competes hard every day and continues to elevate his game. His attention to detail, work ethic, and ability to make an impact in all three zones make him an exciting player for our program. We’re excited to have him back with our group and look forward to seeing his continued growth within our organization.”

The Columbus Mavericks are proud to announce the NCDC promotion of 2008 forward Carter Holbrook.

A skilled and hardworking forward, Holbrook is known for his speed, offensive creativity, and ability to make plays in high-tempo situations. His combination of compete level, hockey IQ, and puck skills allows him to generate offense while remaining reliable in all three zones.

In 2025–26, Holbrook played Premier for the Columbus Mavericks, where he continued to develop his game and establish himself as a consistent contributor. His ability to create scoring opportunities, pressure opponents with his speed, and play with confidence in key situations made him an important part of the Mavericks lineup throughout the season.

Holbrook’s promotion brings skill, energy, and upside to the Mavericks’ forward group heading into the upcoming season. Head Coach Kyle Althen said, “Carter is a player who comes to the rink ready to work every day. His commitment to improving his game and his ability to make an impact offensively make him an exciting player for our program. We’re excited to have him back with our group and look forward to seeing his continued growth within our organization.”

The Columbus Mavericks are proud to announce the NCDC promotion of 2006 forward Giovanni Valentine.

A dynamic offensive threat, Valentine is known for his scoring ability, physical presence, and knack for creating opportunities in the offensive zone. His combination of size, skill, and hockey sense makes him a difficult player to contain while allowing him to impact the game in all three zones.

In 2025–26, Valentine played Premier for the Columbus Mavericks and was selected to the 2026 USPHL Premier All-Star Game after leading the team offensively throughout the season. Last year with the Maverick, he recorded 37 goals and 31 assists in 41 games at the time of his selection and continued to establish himself as one of the league’s most productive forwards. His ability to generate offense, compete in key situations, and lead by example has made him a cornerstone of the Mavericks lineup.

Valentine’s return brings excitement, leadership, and proven offensive production to the Mavericks’ forward group heading into the upcoming season. Head Coach Kyle Althen said, “Giovanni is a high-end goal scorer with a unique ability to create offense whenever he’s on the ice. He has a natural scoring touch, finds open space extremely well, and consistently makes plays that change the momentum of a game. His combination of size, skill, and finishing ability makes him a dangerous player every time he steps over the boards. We’re excited to see him continue to develop and bring that offensive impact to our NCDC group.”

The Columbus Mavericks are proud to announce the tender of 2009 forward Owen Abraham. A skilled young forward, Abraham is known for his offensive instincts, skating ability, and strong compete level. He brings energy to every shift and has the ability to create scoring chances through his vision and work ethic.

In 2025–26, Abraham competed with the Pittsburgh Predators 16U AAA program, continuing to develop against top-tier competition. His combination of speed, hockey IQ, and offensive awareness allows him to be effective in all three zones while consistently contributing to the attack.

Abraham’s tender adds youth, skill, and offensive upside to the Mavericks’ forward group heading into the upcoming season. Head Coach Kyle Althen said, “Owen is a talented young player with a bright future. He competes hard, plays the game the right way, and has the skill set to make an impact offensively. We’re excited to have him join our group and continue his development within our program.”

The Columbus Mavericks are proud to announce the tender of 2006 goaltender Gino Texter. A technically sound netminder, Texter is known for his composure in the crease, strong positioning, and ability to make key saves in crucial moments.

In 2024-26, with the Pittsburg vengeance u18 aaa Texter continued his development against high-level AAA competition, showcasing his consistency and competitiveness between the pipes. His calm demeanor, quick reflexes, and strong hockey IQ allow him to give his team.

Goaltending coach Bailey Seagraves said, “We’re excited to welcome Gino Texter to the Columbus Mavericks! Gino is an athletic goaltender with excellent game awareness, the ability to read plays at a high level, and strong puck-handling skills that will be a tremendous asset to our defensive group.

Beyond his abilities on the ice, Gino is a high-character individual who will bring leadership, work ethic, and a winning mindset to our locker room. We’re thrilled to add a goalie of his caliber as we continue to strengthen the back end of our team.”

The Columbus Mavericks are proud to announce the tender of 2007 defenseman Devyn Bittner of Coral Springs, Florida. A smooth-skating defenseman, Bittner is known for his strong puck-moving ability, hockey IQ, and composure under pressure.

In 2025–26, Bittner competed with the Jersey Hitmen 18U AAA program, continuing to develop against top-level competition. His combination of mobility, vision, and defensive awareness allows him to be effective in all three zones, contributing defensively while supporting the transition and offensive game from the back end.

Bittner’s tender adds depth and versatility to the Mavericks’ defensive core heading into the upcoming season. Head Coach Kyle Althen said, “Devyn is a smart defenseman who moves the puck well and plays with confidence in all situations. His ability to impact the game at both ends of the ice makes him a great addition to our group, and we’re excited to have him continue his development within our program.”

The Columbus Mavericks are excited to welcome 2007 veteran NCDC defenseman Jan Valenta to the organization after completing a trade with the New England Wolves.

Valenta brings valuable junior experience, leadership, and a steady two-way presence to our blue line as we prepare for our inaugural season in the NCDC. His ability to play in all situations and compete at a high level will be a major asset to our team both on and off the ice.

“Jan is exactly the type of player we wanted to add as we take this next step as an organization,” said Mavericks General Manager Joey Recktenwald. “He brings experience, maturity, and a strong work ethic that will help set the standard for our locker room. I’ve had a relationship with him for years and am excited to welcome him to Columbus and see the impact he’ll make on our team this season.”

The Columbus Mavericks are proud to announce the tender of 2006 forward Max Bloomfield. A skilled forward, Bloomfield is known for his skating ability, offensive instincts, and strong compete level.

In 2025–26, Bloomfield competed in the EHL, continuing to develop against high-level competition. His combination of speed, hockey IQ, and playmaking ability allows him to be effective in all three zones while bringing energy and offensive upside to the lineup.

Bloomfield’s tender adds depth and skill to the Mavericks’ forward group heading into the upcoming season. Head Coach Kyle Althen said, “Max is a player with great offensive potential and a strong work ethic. We’re excited to have him join our group and continue his development within our program.”

The Columbus Mavericks are proud to announce the tender of 2007 defenseman Brian Spencer. A right-shot defenseman, Spencer is known for his physical play, defensive awareness, and ability to move the puck effectively from the back end.

In 2025–26, Spencer competed with the South Hills Panthers 18U AAA program, continuing to develop against high-level competition. His combination of strength, mobility, and hockey IQ allows him to be effective in all three zones while bringing stability and toughness to the blue line.

Spencer’s tender adds depth and reliability to the Mavericks’ defensive core heading into the upcoming season. Head Coach Kyle Althen said, “Brian is a dependable defenseman who competes hard and plays a strong two-way game. We’re excited to have him join our group and continue his development within our program.”
