1st or second day at the bus stop, parents saying things like I've been waiting for this day all summer. Not me. Get your kids outside. First day is the worst day. Besides reading and writing....what did you actually learn that still applies today? Can't imagine it today. It was better when AI meant Allen Iverson

Avocado Oil Scam
UC Davis study shows most of the "Avocado Oil" products are fraudsters!
Did you see this?!
A 2026 UC Davis study (led by Selina C. Wang and published in Applied Food Research) examined the authenticity of avocado oil used as the sole declared oil ingredient in commercially processed foods (chips, mayonnaise/sauces, and salad dressings).
Researchers bought products in 2025ā2026 from California stores and online retailers.
They tested 54 avocado oil-labeled samples (two lots each of 27 products) plus 20 olive oil-labeled comparison products.
They extracted the oils and analyzed fatty acid and sterol profiles (chemical āfingerprintsā) against Codex Alimentarius reference ranges for authentic avocado oil, allowing a roughly 10% margin for natural variation by variety/origin.
Laboratory tests confirmed that typical processing (e.g., frying or emulsification) does not substantially alter these key markers.
Key findings: 48 of 54 avocado oil-labeled products (89%) showed compositional patterns inconsistent with authentic avocado oil.
These typically featured lower levels of palmitic acid, palmitoleic acid, cis-vaccenic acid, beta-sitosterol, and clerosterol, plus elevated stearic acid, campesterol, stigmasterol, and certain delta-7 sterolsāpatterns consistent with cheaper seed oils (e.g., soybean, sunflower, safflower, or canola).
Breakdown by category: 26 of 28 chip samples (93%), 10 of 14 mayonnaise samples (71%; all U.S.-made mayo tested failed), and all 12 salad dressing samples (100%). In contrast, only 1 of 20 olive oil-labeled products failed.
The researchers noted that brands may unknowingly receive adulterated oil from suppliers/brokers and that avocado oil has received far less authenticity scrutiny than olive oil (which has long-standing international standards).
Consumers often pay a substantial premium for these products. I was just in Costco yesterday and the jar of chosen foods mayo, which I have been buying for years, was $9.99 for 32 oz and compared it to the kraft which was 2 jars of 25 oz for the same price. At traditional grocers that Chosen Foods mayo would be more expensive and a lot smaller.
The study identifies compositional mismatch rather than proving intentional fraud or quantifying exact adulterant levels in every case; results reflect specific lots purchased in a limited geographic/time window and are not a continuous monitoring program.
Formulations and sourcing can change.
This builds on earlier UC Davis work (e.g., 2020 findings that a large majority of bottled commercial avocado oils were oxidized or adulterated, with only a couple of brands consistently pure and fresh at the time).
Brands/Products That Passed or Failed (Avocado Oil-Labeled)
Results are based on publicly reported details from the studyās media materials and secondary analyses of the product list (two lots tested per product). āPassā means compositionally consistent with authentic avocado oil ranges; āFailā means inconsistent. Only a small number passed in one or both lots.
Passed (consistent in at least one lot):
-Grove AvoYeah! Mayo Sauce ā Both lots passed.
-Grove AvoYeah! Garlic Aioli ā Both lots passed.
-Lesser Evil Moonions Intergalactic Onion (organic avocado oil) ā One lot passed, one failed.
-Simply Tostitos Sea Salt & Avocado Oil Tortilla Chips ā One lot passed, one failed.
Failed (inconsistent in both lots tested):
-Bettergoods Hatch Chile Tortilla Chips (fried in 100% avocado oil)
-Boulder Canyon Avocado Oil Classic Sea Salt Kettle Style Potato Chips
-Briannas Classic Balsamic Vinaigrette (100% avocado oil)
-Chosen Foods products: Lemon Garlic Dressing & Marinade (100% pure avocado oil), Zesty Italian Dressing & Marinade (100% pure avocado oil), Classic Mayo (100% pure avocado oil), Vegan Mayo (100% pure avocado oil)
-Good Health Kettle Style Avocado Oil Potato Chips, Sea Salt
-Jacksonās products: Avocado Oil Sweet Potato Chips; Kettle Cooked Sea Salt Potato Chips (only with avocado oil)
-Kettle Brand products: Sea Salt with a Hint of Pink Peppercorn (avocado oil); Apple Cider Vinegar (avocado oil)
-Primal Kitchen products: Avocado Oil and Vinegar Vinaigrette & Marinade; Italian Dressing & Marinade (avocado oil); Real Mayonnaise (avocado oil)
-Sensible Portions Garden Veggie Straws (avocado oil)
-Siete products: Kettle Cooked Sea Salt Potato Chips (avocado oil); Maiz Sea Salt Corn Tortilla Chips (avocado oil)
-Sir Kensingtonās Avocado Oil Mayonnaise
-Sprouts products: Organic Sea Salt & A Hint of Lime Tortilla Chips (avocado oil); Kettle Style Potato Chips Made with 100% Avocado Oil Sea Salt; Balsamic Vinaigrette with Avocado Oil
-BetterBody Foods 100% Avocado Oil Mayo
Olive oil comparison products mostly passed (examples that passed both lots include various Layās, Trader Joeās, Torres, Graza, Bella Sun Luci, Bragg, and California Olive Ranch items; one Boulder Canyon olive oil lot failed).
I just picked up the Graza Olive oil mayo from Fresh Thyme the other day. Getting harder and harder to eat.
These results are a snapshot of the specific lots tested and do not guarantee current product status, as supply chains and formulations can change. For the most authoritative details, refer to the original paper and the UC Davis media kit/product listing.
There are currently 2 class action law suits in the works for this against 2 companies, can't remember which ones. but this is a form of terrorism. Their weapon is the listed ingredients
What are your thoughts? Were you eating any of the failed products?
Our house was big on the Siete products. but never again.

Avocado oil scam?
A 2026 UC Davis study found most āavocado oilā chips, mayo, and dressings donāt match real avocado oil.Researchers tested 54 products that listed avocado oil as the only oil. 48 of 54 (89%) failed.Breakdown:
⢠Chips: 93% failed
⢠Mayo: 71% failed (every U.S.-made mayo tested failed)
⢠Dressings: 100% failed
Olive oil products? Only 1 of 20 failed.
The chemical fingerprints looked more like cheaper seed oils (soy, sunflower, safflower, canola). Brands may not even know if suppliers sent mixed oil. Shoppers still pay a premium.
I saw it at Costco yesterday. Chosen Foods mayo was $9.99 for 32 oz. Kraft was two 25 oz jars for about the same price. At regular grocery stores, Chosen is even smaller and more expensive.
This does not prove every batch is fake forever. It tested specific lots. Formulas and suppliers change. But it builds on earlier UC Davis work showing bottled avocado oil has had the same problem for years.
Passed in at least one lot:
⢠Grove AvoYeah! mayo + garlic aioli (both lots)
⢠Lesser Evil Moonions (one lot)
⢠Simply Tostitos avocado oil chips (one lot)
Failed both lots:
Chosen Foods mayo + dressings
Primal Kitchen mayo + dressings
Siete chips
Boulder Canyon avocado oil chips
Jacksonās chips
Kettle Brand avocado oil chips
Sir Kensingtonās avocado oil mayo
BetterBody Foods mayo
Briannas balsamic
Sprouts avocado oil chips + dressing
Sensible Portions veggie straws
Good Health chips
Bettergoods Hatch Chile chips
I just grabbed Graza olive oil mayo at Fresh Thyme. Getting harder to trust labels.
Our house was big on Siete. Not anymore.
There are class actions starting around this. The listed ingredient is the claim people paid extra for.
Were you eating any of the failed products? Drop your thoughts.

A good way to start a beach vacation- breaks in water and full, strongest UV sun-- until that solar callus gets stronger by getting as much early AM and later PM sun as possible. However, this guy never left the tent. The decisions you make around the nature either extend your life or shorten it.

Mental illness is rampant today. The drugs add to the problem but the problem starts with fake blue light, nnEMF and blocking/hiding from the sun. The sun is nature's pharmacy.
And now apparently their are copycats.
