Yes, we used the hashtag 'fish fact friday' but we're going to enlighten you with all kinds of underwater facts, not simply fish facts. After all, what if we have a fun fact about a crustacean or a mammal?
Fun Fact: Many of us divers are familiar with a thermocline, but did you know multiple other clines exist too? For instance, a halocline is where fresh and saltwater meet but don't mix. Even more curious, a chemocline is where two different chemicals also meet with minimal to no mixing happening.
Now, the coolest part, the three clines we have mentioned, thermocline, halocline, and chemocline, can sometimes be found and experienced in a single dive site. The cenotes in Mexico are examples of dive sites that have all three clines in one location.
