This is why we train. 💙🏔️
Patty recently hiked 4½ miles through Mueller State Park in Colorado at 9,300–9,500 feet above sea level with her family.
Here's what she shared with us:
"The squats paid off big time. Hiking up and down the trails was a wonderful experience with my family. The strength training made the difference for me. The need for more oxygen was a challenge at times, but my physical strength sustained me. So grateful I can do hikes like this at my age."
This is what strength training is really about.
It's not just about getting stronger in the gym. It's about having the strength and confidence to travel, hike, keep up with your grandkids, and continue doing the things you love.
Patty, congratulations on an incredible accomplishment. We're so proud to be part of your journey. 💙

🧠 The way you think about aging may influence how you age.
We often focus on exercise, nutrition, sleep, and medical care when it comes to healthy aging. Those things matter. But research from Yale professor Dr. Becca Levy suggests something else matters too: our beliefs about aging.
The expectations we hold about getting older can influence our physical health, cognitive health, and even longevity.
These beliefs often show up in everyday decisions:
• What activities we try
• How active we stay
• What we assume is "normal" for our age
• What we quietly decide is no longer possible
The challenge? Many of these beliefs are shaped by cultural messages we've absorbed since childhood.
Instead of viewing aging as something to fight, Dr. Levy encourages us to think about aging as something we can support physically, mentally, and emotionally.
One practical strategy:
Build a portfolio of positive aging role models. Think of people in their 70s, 80s, or 90s who inspire you through their resilience, curiosity, strength, kindness, or independence.
💭 A quick reflection:
When you picture yourself at 70, 80, or 90, what do you expect?
Where did that expectation come from?
Is there a better example you'd rather follow?
Healthy aging isn't about fighting time. It's about building capacity, staying engaged, and creating a better story about what's possible.

Strength Training: Good for More Than Just Muscles 💪❤️
For years, exercise advice has often focused on aerobic activities like walking, running, cycling, and swimming for heart health. But growing research continues to show that strength training plays an important role too.
A recent long-term study of older women found that regular resistance training over two years led to improvements in heart structure and function, highlighting benefits that go beyond building strength and supporting bone health.
This is exciting news because it reinforces what we've seen in practice: targeted strength training can have a positive impact on overall health, including cardiovascular wellbeing.
✅ Stronger bones
✅ Stronger muscles
✅ Better heart health
It's another reminder that resistance training is a powerful investment in healthy aging and long-term wellness.

Molly came to Precision Wellness with a clear goal: to improve her bone density and move farther away from osteoporosis through the ONERO bone health program.
With consistent participation in the program, she improved bone density by 7.0% at the spine and by 7.5% and 10% at each hip, without bone-specific medication, alongside hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Until recently, results like these were rarely achieved without medication.
What makes Molly’s story especially notable is her commitment. She regularly made the two-hour commute from Northern Kentucky to train with us while completing graduate school to become a counselor. Despite a demanding schedule, she stayed consistent and dedicated to the program.
Along the way, Molly also became dramatically stronger through ONERO, building physical capacity that supports long-term bone health and a greater sense of confidence in her body.
Her progress is the result of steady effort over time. We’re proud of the work Molly put in and grateful to support her path toward stronger bones and greater resilience.

I just listened to this ONERO research update and it’s packed with great information:
• 1x vs 2x/week (2x wins)
• How heavy matters (more load = more response)
• Age (older adults can gain just as much, if not more)
• Calcium + meds (helpful, but training is still essential)
