WGP HAS SOME SAD NEWS TO SHARE 💙

It is with heavy hearts that our WGP family shares the passing of Mr. John Garnes Jr.
December 3, 1950 – August 6, 2026

I had the honor of meeting Mr. Garnes on many occasions while coaching alongside his daughter, Coach Kim. One thing that was always clear was just how incredibly proud he was of his daughter and all of her accomplishments.

Coach Kim’s loyalty, faithfulness, dedication, and hardworking spirit are a beautiful reflection of the values and love her father poured into her. His legacy will continue to live on through her and through the many lives she touches.

In honor and loving memory of Mr. John Garnes Jr., WGP held a special BLUE OUT. 💙
Mr. Garnes was a proud Tennessee Titans fan, so our WGP athletes and coaches filled the gym with BLUE to show our love and support for Coach Kim and the entire Garnes family.

It was our small but heartfelt way of honoring a man who was an incredibly Father, Husband, and man.

During this difficult time, we ask our entire WGP family to keep Coach Kim and the Garnes family close in your thoughts and prayers.

Mr. Garnes may no longer be with us physically, but his love, influence, and legacy will forever remain. 💙

Rest peacefully, Mr. Garnes. You will never be forgotten.

May the Souls of the Faithful Departed through the mercy of Christ Rest In Peace!!
