After getting walked off in a 5-run inning division L on Tuesday, the boys bounced back and put up a dominant performance against Lancaster Baseball Club to move to 6-1 in the division, holding on to first place by a thread with 3 games to go. In one of the cleanest defensive performances of the season at the right time, it was Venom 9, LBC 1.

Offensive MVP- Titus Fix was 2 for 2 with a pair of doubles, driving in the game’s deciding run.

Defensive MVP- Brady Cochran put on a virtuoso performance at pitcher, going (basically) all the way, ending 9 of 24 at-bats (across 8 different hitters) with a K, allowing just 1 earned run, and delivering an amazing performance with the season on the line.

For the second time in a week, the Venom welcomed a team of athletes from the Worthington Nationals program and walked away the victors, 11-1. In those two games, 6 Venom pitchers combined for some absurd stats- 9 innings, 3 hits, 0 earned runs, .088 BAA, and two wins.

Offensive MVP- Hudson Ross has been a clutch hitter all year, and added a bases-loaded, two-out single to right field to drive in a pair and put the game out of reach.

Defensive MVP-Brady Cochran started the game and needed only 19 pitches to go two perfect innings, striking out 4 and accounting for 5 of the 6 outs himself.

With tournament season in the rearview mirror, the squad returns its focus to division play and finishing the season strong in rivalry games. We kicked off the final third of the 2026 season with a division game against the Worthington Nationals, winning in dominating fashion, 19-4, behind an onslaught of hits and pitchers who combined to throw a one-hitter.

Offensive MVP- Have a day, Will Wiselogel! Recently moving to the three spot, Will has dominated and stole the show with 5 RBI and 4 total bases.

Defensive MVP- Dylan Sockrider did it all on defense, starting the game on the bump and earning the win, while also making a diving stop at shortstop to preserve the one-hitter in the third.

After two consecutive weekends of rained out tournaments, we packed our bags and headed out of town to play in the War on the Shore in Cleveland. When you get walked off by a grand slam in extra innings, all you can do is tip the hat.

Game 1- The Venom battled Athletix Baseball in a grueling back-and-forth matchup and came up just short with the tying run on second base, 11-9.

Offensive MVP- In a game where baserunners were at a premium, Brayden Calloway reached base safely in all three bats and scored each time.

Defensive MVP- Brady Cochran was an iron man on the mound, going 90+ pitches and giving the team a chance to come back and win.

Game 2- Facing off against the Outlaws Baseball Club from Wadsworth, we tallied 13 hits (4 XBH) and 12 RBI to walk away with a 16-7 win.

Offensive MVP- Lennon Sharps has caught fire the past few weeks and stroked 2 doubles (with 4 on the weekend) while driving in 4 runs.

Defensive MVP- With the game in question, Titus Fix took the mound and disrupted the opponents’ momentum, allowing the bats to take over and win the game in the 4th.

Game 3- In a tight game that went to extra innings, the Venom put up six runs in the top half, but ultimately watched a game-winning grand slam fly over the fence, losing to the Forest City Lumberjacks, 15-14. Heartbreak.

Offensive MVP- Jack Perdue started a massive two-out rally in the final inning. His double to right field kicked off a six-run barrage. He also scored the game tying run to extend the contest on his way to collecting 3 hits and 4 RBIs.

Defensive MVP- Lennon Sharps tossed four dominant innings that made space for the team to grab a 7-2 lead.

Our tournament was rained out this weekend, unfortunately. To keep spirits high, here’s a reminder of the absolute *show* the Venom put on last year at the same tournament, featuring 9 homeruns 💥

It was a total team effort as the Venom took on the North Columbus Comets last night. With a substantial part of the team out for school events, the remaining 9 showed out all night. From the bottom of the lineup going 5 for 9 while driving in 4 and scoring 5 runs, to a dominating 2-hit outing from 3 pitchers, to a late-inning rundown at 3rd that featured all 9 fielders getting involved, it was all about being accountable to each other in the 12-2 win.

Offensive MVP- Gabe Walker turned in his best offensive performance of the year, going 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and a run scored.

Defensive MVP- Lennon Sharps not only pitched 2 excellent innings striking out 4, but he was a star on defense giving up his body on plays at 1st and always being in the right backup position to save the day

Following a DH sweep in the division on Saturday, the boys welcomed another division rival, OBC Youness, to their home field and improved to 3-0 in the division with an 18-3 thumping. The squad logged 14 hits in 26 at bats, drove in 15 RBI, needed 80 fewer pitches, and rode a dominant performance from the starter to extend their division lead.

Offensive MVP- Titus Fix drove in 3 runs from the cleanup spot and scored 4(!) times, while adding a stolen base to his performance.

Defensive MVP- Will Wiselogel has been unstoppable lately. Not only did he go the distance, he only needed to see 18 hitters on 58 pitches to get it done. He allowed only 2 earned runs and was firing strikes at a 64% rate. That’ll do.

In the back half of a division doubleheader, the Northside Venom collected their 10th win of the young season in grand fashion, beating the Hilliard Colts 13-2- the team’s 9th win while scoring 10 or more runs. The game saw 4 different Venom pitchers combine to allow only 5 hits across 37 at-bats, containing the Colts to only 2 runs in 7 innings of play.

Offensive MVP- Not only did Will Wiselogel hit a 310-foot tank, but he did it while going 3 for 3, driving in 4 runs and scoring twice. In the past 7 games, he leads the team in hits, extra base hits, and RBIs, and has done it without a single strikeout.

Defensive MVP- Jack Perdue proved why he was elected a captain, throwing out 3 runners on the basepaths and recording an out at the plate with incredible effort and athleticism. Have a day, 11!

Coaches weren’t the only ones raking this morning, as the Venom took on the Hilliard Colts in a COYBL division 1 vs. 2 matchup. After going down 3-9 in the 2nd, the pitchers went on for 6 innings, allowed 0 earned runs, and gave the bats a chance to take over the game. The boys spent the rest of the afternoon launching pitch after pitch over the outfielders’ heads, including in a pivotal 5th inning that saw three doubles to the fence in the span of 8 pitches, turning a 10-11 deficit into the 15-11 lead they’d ride to victory.

Offensive MVP- Colin Job manned the 3-spot and tallied 5 RBI, including a bases-loaded double that plated three runs that proved to be the difference in the game.

Defensive MVP- Jaxson Tiemeier tossed an epic outing on the mound. He was called on with the team in a deep 2nd inning hole and went on to deliver a clutch performance. He notched 5 IP averaging 13 pitches per inning, while surrendering 0 earned runs and putting on a PFP clinic on defense.

COYBL division play is officially underway, and the Venom started in grand fashion with a road win on the turf against the Worthington Nationals Blue team, 16-11. After a sluggish start, the pitching and defense were too much to overcome for the Nats and the Venom are now 1-0 in the division.

Offensive MVP- Taran Meador has come alive at the plate recently and was a force in this game, going 3 for 3 at the dish and knocking in 2, including the hit that broke the dam.

Defensive MVP- Brayden Calloway got extended time at second base and seized the opportunity. He notched a team high 7 defensive assists, demonstrated tremendous range, and came in clutch with the leather all night.
