Your equestrian adventure awaits! My goal is to create well rounded, compassionate equestrians who put the horses first.

I believe in the animals, the life lessons they can teach us, and want to help anyone who wants any type of relationship with a horse whether it be to build a solid foundation in the basics at the start of their journey towards a successful showing career, or simply to learn to be around them and enjoy their company.

I took one of my regular Wednesday riders Hound Walking with Rocky Fork Headley Hunt last evening and we had so much fun! Gorgeous evening for a trail ride!

LEASES AVAILABLE!! I’ve been so focused on boarding, lessons, camps and shows lately the lease opportunities haven’t been getting any attention, so let’s talk about leasing!

I actually have TWO rare openings at Sunbury barn right now, due to one leaser going off to college and one getting their own horse! I also have several great options available at MV barn! Lease prices start at $150/month for 1 day per week.

I offer leases for specific horses as well as rotating leases for riders who like variety or have scheduling limitations. All leasable horses are used in the lesson program, so you must schedule your lease rides in advance but it does not have to be the same day each week! Youth leasers do have a lesson requirement, but the frequency is based on skill level. I do not lease to anyone below advanced beginner level, but I do love to start beginners in lessons with leasing and ownership as their goals!

Of the two available lease spots at Sunbury barn, one horse is intermediate friendly and available for 1x a week. Sherman is a trusty old man, still plenty of get up and go and loves his job! He does go to a lot of the shows, so unless you’re going with us you’ll need to be willing to schedule your lease rides during the week when he has show weekends.

The other is Hanna, who requires an advanced rider, and is available for up to 3x per week. Hanna will only be at Sunbury barn through the end of this show season, as some students are actively campaigning her while I take the year off to set up my boarding business, but she will move back to MV barn in November to return to training with me. She is my personal eventing horse and I plan to hit the circuit again next year 😉 I’m happy to share though if her leaser is willing to move with her!

Mount Vernon barn has several great options available now! Molly, Tilly, Sophie, and Britney are all available for at least 1 lease day per week, some of them could do 2-3x a week. All 4 can go English or western, Molly and Tilly jump, Sophie definitely knows more dressage than you, everyone trail rides like a dream.

Britney is the only one of these ladies who requires a more advanced rider currently, and that is only because she is very sensitive and strongly prefers a calm, quiet and very well balanced handler. She has aaaalll sorts of interesting buttons, is 5 gaited (though we are still learning how to ask for specific gaits and not just whatever foot patterns she feels like giving me based on what speed I’m asking for) and is the most comfortable horse I have ever had the pleasure of running a hunter pace on. Those of you who know me in person know I have horse lady back issues and I was not sore at all even after we did 4 miles at full speed!

All leasers within my program have options/opportunities to take their lease horses to shows, trail rides, hunter paces, fox hunts, hound walks, clinics, horsey playground trips, anything that sounds fun and can be arranged logistically we will do! There’s also plenty of indoor and outdoor riding space at both barns, the only thing that’ll get in your way (other than life in general 😅) is extreme heat or extreme cold!

I don’t know all of my horses birthdays, but I do know quite a few. This one, though, is the only one I’ve known since she was born. I didn’t own her then, but I couldn’t imagine my life without her now. HAPPY 12th BIRTHDAY HANNA BANANARAMA

Advanced Camp Day 3! Today I tasked the riders with setting up their own mini course in the arena, from measuring out the lines to creating the courses themselves. We ended the riding portion of the day with a round of Gamblers Choice, then learned to do a couple different styles of braids and made our own pocket halters! Any loose horses around these girls better watch out 😂

Advanced camp day 2! We spent the vast majority of the day in the jump field, learning to walk/measure our strides and then taking turns riding the horses through a grid to experience how the same set up feels on different horses. I even brought Miss 5 Gaited Saddlebred Britney to the party so the campers could experience a totally different set of rhythms than anything they’ve ever felt before! We were too busy rocking it and having fun to get a group photo, and fb will only let me post one video at a time apparently, so here’s one of the regularly paired & competitive horses and riders going through the final stage of the day, finding the right tempo for a bigger fence!

Advanced Camp Day 1 on the books! Today we played ring toss race & learned all about various types of leg protection boots/wraps 🙂

🐴 Boarding Openings Available at KevyGo Riding! 🐴

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I am once again accepting new boarders! I am also expanding my boarding options to include pasture board and additional full board spots, as well as the partial, co-op, and self-care options already available.

For those who may not know me, I'm relatively new to the Mount Vernon area. I've been teaching lessons and boarding horses locally for the past three years and have lived here for the last two.

I am a lifelong equestrian who grew up riding and competing in 4-H, open, and breed shows. While my personal competitive focus is currently in three-day eventing, I enjoy teaching riders of all ages, experience levels, and goals—from recreational trail riders and first-time horse owners to competitive riders interested in open shows, Hunter/Jumper circuits, and beyond.

I also offer lessons and leasing opportunities for those who do not currently own a horse, or don’t own a rideable one, but would like to learn, ride regularly, or gain experience before purchasing their own!

My horse care philosophy centers around forage, freedom, and friends. I recognize there are many successful approaches to horse management, and my priority is creating an environment where horses can thrive physically and mentally while receiving individualized care.

I have spent most of my adult life working professionally in the horse industry, including the last 12 years building my own program as a riding instructor, trainer, and boarding barn manager. Growing up with modest means taught me the value of hard work, resourcefulness, and perseverance. Those experiences continue to shape both my horsemanship and my commitment to making horses accessible to people from a variety of backgrounds.

My barn may not be fancy or have all the bells and whistles, but it is functional, welcoming, and designed for horses to live happy, relaxed lives. Over the years, I have worked hard to build a friendly, educational, supportive, and drama-free barn community. I strive to provide budget-friendly, judgment-free access to horses and quality instruction for riders of all ages and experience levels.

I am looking for boarders and clients who value good communication, mutual respect, and a positive atmosphere. Whether you're looking for boarding, training, lessons, or a lease opportunity, I'd love to talk with you about the options available!

If you're searching for a place where your horse can enjoy quality care and where an experienced horse professional lives onsite and is available to help with daily care, training, and support when needed, please reach out.

Feel free to contact me for more information or to schedule a visit. I look forward to meeting you—and your horse, if you have one!

I took two students on their first hunter pace today with Rocky Fork Headley Hunt on an all Saddlebred team, including my new girl Britney, and we managed to place third in the medium speed division! I have two new people and one new horse hooked on paces now! What a fantastic day!
