ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!

Since before our seasons started we have been in collaboration with our neighbor leagues Boston and RI on how to networking together to build a stronger relationship, grow our leagues to new levels, and showcase the great athletes our leagues have.

The Southern New England Friendship League The Beantown Softball League RCSL - Renaissance City Softball League would like to announce the 2026 New England Cup!

This is a first of what will be an annual tournament. This year we multiple teams with 2 divisions, an Open division and an ASANA division. This is a friendly bragging rights tournament to see who is the top iPride League in New England!!

This years tournament will be hosted by Renaissance City!!!

When: Saturday Sept 19 2026

Where: Hank Soar Complex in Pawtucket RI

This event would not be possible without the tireless work of Freddy Lee Briana Dougherty Calvin Interiano Ben Toro John Richard Paul Dean James DeFalco!!!!

The 2026 SNEFSL season came to an end Sunday with an amazing playoff series. Lots of close games and a championship series that lasted until dark… literally!!! The championship game ended in the 3rd inning when the lights shut off while playing!!!! This resulted in there being a co-champion since we were playing the “if game” of the bracket! Congrats to the SNEFSL 2026 Co Champions Panteras and York St!!!!

Next stop Columbus for the 2026 GSWS and the the first annual New England Cup in RI. Lots more news to come!!

It is with a heavy heart that we inform our softball community that we lost a great friend, teammate, and person. We are broken hearted to say goodbye to Robert Genovese!! Bobby was the glue of our York St team for many years, he was loved throughout the league and through iPride. To our SNE family this is a tremendous loss. Bobby will be missed!!! Thank you for all the great memories and at good times. Till we meet again!!! RIP Bobby!!!! 🥎💔🙏🏽🏳️‍🌈🪽🪽

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We have a candidate for the role of Athletic Director!!! Our current Athletic Director Ben Toro is looking to be reelected as AD!!! Here is his speech:

Good Evening SNEFSL,

This letter is to formally announce that I am running to remain as your Athletic Director.

As Athletic Director the last 2 years, we were able to make great changes that focused on player engagement and involvement, community outreach, and recruitment and marketing resulting in growth of the league.

Player Engagement, we focused on bringing the league together by hosting social events and gatherings. The first ever Yard Goats Pride night event, followed by our first All Star Game and HR Derby, we also repeated those an events this season by adding the Hartford Wolfpack fundraiser. This year we also hosted one of the largest recruiting and skills day In league history. This is proof that when you get your players involved in the day to day of this league, only great things can happen

Community Outreach, over the last couple of seasons we have been participating in local Pride Events, getting the community to know who we are. We also March in the St Patrick’s Day Parade where we were honored as the “Best Adult Sports Unit” in the parade! We received an honor at their award ceremony. Our goal was to be more then just a softball league and organization, we strive to be something that the community can rely on and appreciate.

Recruiting and Marketing, one of my first roles as Athletic Director was getting our name out there, I revamped our social media pages, we are more active on Facebook and other platforms, providing information about our upcoming events and league activities. Along with social media I redesigned our league website. Weekly I update league standings, make league schedules, and update playoff eligibility rosters.

I have had the honor as serving as your Athletic Director and if reelected I will work with the other board members on ideas and strategies on making our league stronger and to help us grow from a small size league to a medium sized league.

The hard part of election time is knowing that there will be an opportunity that the team I been working with might break apart. This was a team effort, Calvin, James, and Jose have put forth a lot of time and energy and lot of these accomplishments wouldn’t have been made without their dedication and support.

I hope that my hard work the past couple of years has given you faith in my abilities and I have earned your vote!!!
