I am tan, tired, grateful, honored… an entire feeling, breathing, gleaming ball of humanity and emotions.

It’s been another wonderful Wild Zen Yoga Fest in the books. How are we doing fam?!**

Being the “dance person” at the yoga festival, guiding us into sunset each night, every year for the past six festivals has been an immense joy and honor.

I am full. There is truly nothing I love more than sharing dance with people, with YOU.

There is no other place that I feel quite so in my PURPOSE as when I have the opportunity to speak, prompt, ask, invite, reflect back, or embody just the right thing that allows someone else to open up, to let their guard down, to shed something, and to allow themselves to fully express, fully be seen, alive, and accepting of their own messy, weird, wild humanity.

This weekend was a whole range of emotions and experiences for me. The vibes were epic. Now begins my own integration and likely, I’ll have more to keep to myself and more to share.

As a good friend shared at our closing circle, it is not only important, but necessary for us all to carry this from the festival grounds into our daily lives with curiosity and compassion.

A wonderful way to do that is to messily talk, dump, feel, and move through the HOW of that, to make meaning, imagine how to carry this all forward… To understand how and what we are taking away from Wild Zen can continue to nourish us and the people and world around us. We are doing a two part movement series around the new moon and full moon this month while I am in Grand Rapids.

We will be gathering to practice & dance at the outdoor garden space at the Kids Food Basket Farm in Grand Rapids. Carrie is one of my favorite people to collaborate with because of the gentle, intuitive, grounded way she guides yoga. She will kick the evening with a slow flow that will ease into my special, unique way of guiding freeform dance.

This offering, to me, has always felt like one without pretense and performativity. Just a gentle place to land, move, and be together.

After a final call of a 6 session group program I’ve been running… I decided to sit on the porch of our temporary home to reflect. It was a lovely experience. And today is a very special day — the 5th birthday of my business. This is the day, 5 years ago, when my 1st coaching client paid me in full. A dream became reality.

I’ve just wrapped up a really special live, group container called UNSTUCK. And to hold it was just… easy… And settling, and the most beautiful, non-judgmental, open, vulnerable group of humans that trusted me enough to join and trusted themselves enough to play.

What came through for me tonight, as I explored alongside them, was... that this gets to be easy. This work gets to feel authentic. There gets to be rest, and trust, and pause, and... I feel like, in my life, I used to feel like there needed to be this, like, activation or intensity for something to feel worthwhile. But what I feel in this moment is ease. And this calm groundedness. And that feels really special. That feels like an evolution on my journey. And I want to name that in this moment.

That it was I want to share here. No strategic “let me reintroduce myself” like I had planned to do today. No “these are the things I have coming up and how you can support my small business”. You can find those things if you’d like to. My website’s just my first and middle name dot com.

No. What I really want to say on this golden birthday of ‘Whitney Dawn Movement & Coaching’, the fifth birthday of my business, is... I’m just so grateful to be doing work that... feels so right and feels so settling. Work that nourishes me. Work that lets me be in front of incredible people. Work that feels like… an exhale.

The world wants you addicted to intensity. Today, I am grateful that this work feels like home. Calming. Grounding. Like the type of deep rest that prepares you wake up, refreshed, ready, at sunrise.
