Happy one-week anniversary to our tennis pro, Matt DeGroot, and his beautiful bride, Emma! The two tied the knot at The WildeWood Club last weekend, surrounded by family and friends who traveled from across the United States and Europe—and from as far away as Australia—to celebrate with them.

This past weekend brought two days of great golf, friendly competition, and plenty of WildeWood camaraderie. From impressive shots on the course to the moments shared between rounds, it was a wonderful weekend celebrating our golf community.

Brent Blaum claimed the Men’s Championship with a two-day gross score of 147, while Natalie Huff earned the Women’s Championship with a gross score of 162.

💦 The Great American Splash-Off – Our newest Fourth of July tradition! Show off your creativity by jumping into the pool as your favorite American symbol—think Bald Eagle, Statue of Liberty, Liberty Bell, Fireworks, or create your own patriotic masterpiece! Jumps will be judged on Creativity, Form, and Patriotic Spirit, with Youth (5–17) and Adult (18+) divisions competing for the coveted Most Patriotic Splash Trophy! 🏆

It’s going to be an afternoon filled with great food, family fun, friendly competition, and plenty of red, white, and blue spirit as we celebrate America’s 250th Birthday together.

🏆💦 Cannonball Champions Crowned! 💦🏆

We weren't sure we'd be able to finish the competition after a 30-minute lightning delay, but thanks to a little patience (and a lot of enthusiasm), the skies cleared and the cannonball contest was back on!

And in the end, one thing became crystal clear:

Both competitors made a huge splash and earned their championship trophies with some impressive cannonballs!

If you headed home during the weather delay, don't worry - you haven't missed your last chance at glory. By popular demand, we'll be bringing back the cannonball competition (or perhaps an even more creative jumping contest!) at our **4th of July Pool Party**. 🇺🇸💦🏆

So start practicing now. We have a feeling the competition is only going to get bigger, splashier, and even more entertaining!

Chris claimed the coveted Ultimate Dad Joke Champion Microphone Trophy at last night's Father's Day Weekend Pool Party with this award-winning joke:

The joke earned plenty of laughs - and the microphone trophy to prove it! 🎤🏆😆

🎶 The fairways were alive with songbirds today.

During a few short listening sessions around the course, we identified 11 different bird species, including:

• Northern Mockingbird
• American Robin
• Chipping Sparrow
• Tufted Titmouse
• Brown-headed Nuthatch
• Eastern Towhee
• House Finch
• Red-bellied Woodpecker

One of the hidden treasures of WildeWood is the incredible habitat created by our mature pines, lakes, and wooded fairways. While golfers may be chasing birdies, the real birds were already here this morning.
