Before I could begin my journey into Ashfall Basin, I tracked down my trusted friend and SWAG species expert, Jim “The Bear” Nemeth, to gather everything he knew about the latest discovery.

His report confirmed what many believed was only legend.

The Phoenix had been sighted.

Heat signatures unlike anything previously recorded… a nest hidden deep within the basin… and a species said to thrive where few others could survive.

After hearing Jim’s account, I knew there was only one option.

I had to earn this magnificent creature’s trust and, with any luck, welcome it into the Panda-verse Preserve.

The Preserve is home to two remarkable Swag Bowling species—the Snow Leopard (Apex Solid) and the Grizzly Bear (Unreal Solid). Recent reports tell a different story.

Strange tracks. Unexplained sounds. Distant silhouettes moving through the mountains.

Some witnesses speak of a fiery creature rising from the ash. Others swear they’ve heard laughter echoing through the marsh long after sunset. A few even claim something unknown has been watching from the shadows… waiting.

Whether these are undiscovered species or myths brought to life, there’s only one way to find out.

The map is drawn. The gear is packed.

Tomorrow, Expedition 001 leaves Base Camp.

Over the past year, many of you have followed my bowling journey as I learned, improved, and built my arsenal.

Recently, I made two major changes—I transitioned to throwing two-handed and moved from 15 lb to 14 lb equipment. Instead of simply plugging and redrilling my gear, I decided to start fresh.

That made this the perfect time to bring an idea I’ve been building behind the scenes to life…

Welcome to the Panda-verse Preserve.

This is more than a bowling ball collection.

It’s a living collection where every bowling ball becomes a unique species, chosen to represent its personality, strengths, and motion on the lanes. Every new addition is a Species Discovery, and every discovery expands The Preserve.

Today, I’m excited to introduce the founding species:

But this is only the beginning.

As the Preserve grows, we’ll dive deeper into every species through Species Profiles, Field Reports, Habitat Reports, and discover which species earn their place on my League Expeditions and Tournament Expeditions.

We all believed James Reid had embraced the Bison.

Strong. Powerful. Unmovable.

What we didn’t realize was…The Bison was just the cover.

Behind the scenes, James was preparing for a mission much bigger than any of us knew.

Nationals.

When the time came, the disguise was shed, the true operative emerged, and The Pin Assassin went to work. His preferred weapon? The Swag Judge!

Meet…The Ginger Ninja.
The Stoat.
Mission accomplished.

James bowled well above his average, stayed composed under pressure, and absolutely slayed his foes throughout the event. It wasn’t about overpowering the competition—it was about outthinking, outmaneuvering, and executing when it mattered most.

And honestly… a stoat couldn’t be a more fitting animal.

🥷 Why the Stoat?

• Fearless – Stoats routinely hunt prey much larger than themselves. They don’t care who they’re up against.

• Fast and precise – Every movement has purpose. Quick, efficient, and deadly accurate—just like great shot-making.

The Bison wasn’t gone.

I had an amazing time meeting and bowling with Aaron Howard today! We had a great time talking shop, learning new things, and testing out the Swag Unreal Solid. I’ll be bringing this out on a fresh shot during league on Wednesday!
