That’s what this series is about.

I’m taking viral survival hacks from TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube and judging them as a survival instructor based on one thing:

Would I actually trust this technique when it mattered?

Some of these hacks are legitimate survival skills.

Some technically work, but only in very specific situations.

And some are straight up internet hype that could waste your time, burn valuable energy, or make a bad situation even worse.

What do you get when you put Q tip ear cleaners and liquid vaseline together?
A candle or one really big fire starter. Even the plastic case that it's in acts as a fire extender.
