Details for the SWKIF Fall Shinsa have arrived! Be sure to check with Sensei before submitting your application. Deadline is September 5th.

The 2026 SWKIF Fall Shinsa will be held on Sunday the 27th of September, in Austin, TX:

Starting at 9am to 1pm

Rank Testing will be up to 4 Dan, if you plan to Test, you must be a member of AUSKF/SWKIF and you must register to Test by the 5th of September.

On August 8th, Kaede represented Colorado Springs Kendo at the Waco Kendo Summer Youth Taikai and subsequently took 3rd place!

Starting the week of August 11th, we are back to our normal Tuesday and Thursday schedule from 6-8 pm!

Also we will be holding another practice at Boulder Park this Saturday (Aug 8th) at 830 am.

21st Longhorn Invitational Team Kendo Taikai and SWKIF Shinsa — Austin Kendo Doshikai Austin Kendo Doshikai and the Kendo Association at the University of Texas host the Longhorn Invitational Team Kendo Taikai on Saturday, September 26. The SWKIF shinsa (rank examination) and godo keiko will take place on Sunday, September 27

REMINDER:

Our next regular class will take place on Tuesday August 11th at the normal time and location.

Additionally, we will be conducting kata in the park this Saturday August 25th at Boulder Park from 830 to 1030.

CSKK SUMMER SCHEDULE!

For the months of June and July we will be switching up our schedule due to the summer break at our practice location. Scheduled practices are listed below:

June:

Our three classes for June will be on Tuesday the 9th, 16th, and 23rd at the same time/location as normal (6-8PM).

July:

Our three classes for July will be on Tuesday the 7th, 14th, and 21st also at the normal time/location (6-8PM).

Additionally, we will be conducting Kata in the park on Saturday June 13th starting at 8:30AM through 10:30AM and continue every other week through July at the same time! (Jun 27th , July 11th , July 25th). Location for kata will be Boulder Park, 1210 E Boulder St, Colorado Springs, CO 80950

This weekend Colorado Springs Kendo Kai competed In the second-ever invitational Rensei Taikai in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A huge thanks to both Chen-sensei and Davis-sensei for joining our 5-person team!

Matt and Charles also participated in the Spring Shinsa on Sunday earning the ranks of ikkyu and yonkyu (respectively). Congratulations!
