Texas A&M Sailing Team

Texas A&M Sailing Team A nationally competitive sailing team out of Texas A&M University! The team has existed at A&M since 1990 as part of the Recreational Sports Program.

The Texas A&M Sailing Team is a student organization devoted to developing students' sailing abilities through practice and competition. It is entirely run and coached by dedicated students. We hold practice every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 3:00 pm at our facility at Lake Bryan, which is about 20 minutes from campus. Almost every weekend of the school year we compete in regattas sailing 420s, Lasers, and FJs. The team has nine Vanguard 420s, three Laser's, two FJs, and one 470 which are kept at our complex at Lake Bryan. Several team members own their own Lasers that they use for practice and competitions. We use host teams' FJs and 420s at out-of-town regattas. We compete in the Southeastern Intercollegiate Sailing Association (SEISA) which includes such schools as University of Texas, University of Kansas, University of Central Oklahoma, Tulane University, Texas A&M Galveston, University of Colorado-Boulder, and Oklahoma State.
