Know Your REALTOR® Danger Zones!

🚗 In your car: Drive separately when possible. Keep your vehicle accessible and know where you can go if you need to leave quickly.

🏢 In your office: Always have an exit plan and know your surroundings.

🏡 When showing a property: Never let a client go behind you up or down stairs. If possible, avoid going into basements, attics, or other areas where you could become trapped.

📞 You can also have someone call you during the showing to check in.

🏠 Outside doors should be made of solid wood or metal and should have strong, sturdy locks.

✔️ Check that doors are in good condition.

If you are contacted by a suspicious customer, buyer, seller, or renter, don’t ignore the warning signs. Reach out to your REALTOR® colleagues and spread the word. Sharing information can help prevent the next person from becoming a victim.

🚨 YES, IT IS HAPPENING HERE IN BRANCH COUNTY!

We have seen:
• Fraudulent AT&T accounts openedusing our BCAR office information.
• Scammers attempting to sell homes that do not belong to them.
• Scammers attempting to rent homes they do not own.

💰 NEVER SEND FUNDS ONLINE without independently verifying who you are dealing with and where the money is going.
