Colchester Parks & Recreation Creating a Healthy Community Through People, Parks and Programs

Colchester Parks and Recreation Department strives to build a stronger, healthier, more active community by providing safe and attractive parks and facilities and offering interesting and exciting programs and events that bring our residents together. The Recreation Division administers a wide variety of programs and services for all ages and interests, including summer day camp, instructional programs, trips, special events (57 Fest, Summer Concerts), community theater and orchestra, sports, after-school programs, and more.

Hey Colchester! We are looking for volunteers to set up their trunks and help pass out candy at our annual Colchester Trunk-Or-Treat event. This is one of our most popular events each year, hosting hundreds of families in one fun-packed evening.

🎃This year's Trunk-Or-Treat will be SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25th in the Bacon Academy parking lot from 3pm-6pm. The first hour will be sensory-friendly, without loud music or flashing lights. All trunks will participate in the full event.

Join us for a fall-inspired paint night. You will be guided through step-by-step directions to complete a 12x16 acrylic painting in 2 hours!

🍂Join artist Sue Weaver, a retired art teacher of 36 years for a night of fun! All participants will bring home their own artistic creation!

🍂This adult class is open to participants 10 years and older. All children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a registered adult participant.

*Please wear clothing that you don't mind getting paint on.

Hey, K-2nd grade families!

We still have some spots available in our after school Young Yogis class this fall! Classes run for 4 weeks, right after school at CES.

Our instructor, Ms. Susie Hawkins, will guide children through simple yoga stretches and breathing to help them learn skills for focusing and calming their bodies and minds as well as increasing flexibility and coordination -- and making some new friends along the way!

All materials will be provided, but kiddos are encouraged to wear socks and comfy clothing for the class.

It's time for Celebrate Colchester 2026!! (formerly 57 Fest)

🌟Join us on the Town Green Saturday, September 19th from 1pm-5pm and Celebrate all the things that make Colchester great! This is an event you do NOT want to miss!!!
🌟We have over 40 vendors, community organizations, Food Trucks, Touch-a-Truck, raffles and prizes... Plus, a bounce house, dunk tank, games, face painting, live music by Sister Funk, DJ Montez, and MORE!!

Fun for all ages!!! Swing by for a fun time, and come hungry!
