TIGER Il pilot, Jim Adcock displaying the latest firesuit from Ansen for the NHRA National Dragster photographers in 1965.
Firesuits were not very common in FX and funny cars this early on but with the nitro and the elapsed times they were running it was definitely becoming a necessity.

Still to this day, two of the most substantial pictures ever sent to me of the Tiger II / Blitzer. Lyle Greenberg sent me these that were taken at Albuquerque Dragway just after Jim and Andy Adcock had renamed the car to Blitzer. In just a few months this car would have a blown nitro burning 427 in it and be promptly banned by NHRA. That motor was then sold to future NHRA announcer Dave McClelland and put in a flat bottom drag boat to go on to set a record at Lake Havasu. Hot rod history!
