What a difference you all made in 24 hours! We will be getting started with organizing and setting up the gym tomorrow morning at 10 am AT OUR NEW LAKEWOOD FACILITY! We have 1,000 things to do and welcome a helping hand from 10am to 3pm.

Most injuries don’t come from one bad rep. Many are from stacking stress… and never truly coming down from it.
A cooldown is just your way of telling your body:
“Okay, we’re done. You can relax now.”
A few easy minutes helps:
• Bring your heart rate down
• Let tight muscles soften
• Reset your breathing
• Start recovery right away

Welcome Coach Evan to the team đź‘‹
Evan considers himself an “everyday athlete” who loves to show up, work hard, and keep getting better. Evan grew up playing nearly every sport before focusing on baseball, swimming, and cross-country at St. Ignatius, and then competed on Miami University’s Club Baseball team and served as their Team Captain.
He discovered functional fitness in college and quickly fell in love with the challenge, coaching, and community. Since then, Evan has been competing in CrossFit competitions and snagging multiple podium spots.
After moving to Cleveland in 2022, PHYT became his favorite hour of the day—a place to leave stress at the door and train alongside people who show up for the same reason.
Outside the gym, Evan works in Corporate Finance at Sherwin-Williams, volunteers with The First Tee of Cleveland, and is always chasing the next challenge—whether that’s a Half Ironman, beer league glory, or a beer mile.

Our Director of Training writes every workout in-house, with intention behind every piece.

Tomorrow, we start with strength—deadlifts and seated shoulder press—taught, coached, and scaled so beginners can learn confidently and experienced lifters can push real numbers.
Then we finish with conditioning: biking paired with gymnastics options (muscle-ups, pull-ups, or ring rows). Same structure, different challenges—chosen based on your skill level and goals.
Whether you’re learning the basics or chasing progress, you’ll be coached through work that meets you where you are and pushes you forward.
