Dustin Wilks Notoriously, September is the toughest month for bass fishing in the south. Fish are spread out, water quality is at it’s worst, but big ones can still be had. I’d recommend checking your summer spots and also dirt shallow. Don’t spend too much time in any given area unless signs are there of fish feeding.
