Some tidbits from our Stag Island trip. The Marysville launch, sunrise, the white marker on the downstream end of the island.

This bass fishing report has some real gems in it. I outline hot areas plus provide the ultimate public service by keeping anglers from wasting gas on "no bass land!" Had to cover a lot of water again, but smallmouth quality is up, where I'm catching 'em!

The expiration date on the summer bite is coming due. Ken and I are going for a river bite tomorrow up at Stag Island. On my last trip there (many years ago) I had a sturgeon take my 5" tube and throw it back at me.

This is supposed to be an el nino year, so hopefully this bite holds up into late September. Last year fall came early, and the system flipped after Labor Day.

Summer smallmouth fishing in Lake St. Clair is rolling right along! I'm seeing some patterns that are making a difference in what makes a spot consistent, or not. That's helpful to know, when we want to stay on the bite!

What a great week on the big water! The migration triangle came through for us and we have the receipts. The summer bite means many things, one of them is: presentation and color make a difference.
