A short update from last weekends race at lincoln trail

There is not much to say other than our bike lost spark so we never got to finish a race ..a friend let us use his bike and the clutch went two turns after the gate dropped so we unfortunately have no results to post ...we are digging into the our bike to figure out the prob and we believe its the stator ..Hopefully we get that fixed by the next race ..we are still waiting on getting our race bike fixed too, the eta on that is until further notice :( .

🃏 THE WILD CARD STRIKES AGAIN! 🃏

Round 5 at Lincoln Trail Motocross is officially in the books, and Shelby proved exactly why everyone calls him "The Wild Card." On any given weekend, you truly never know what you’re gonna get with him—from heartbreaking bike malfunctions to unbelievable, jaw-dropping charges through the pack, he keeps everyone on the edge of their seats! 📈📉

👉 SATURDAY: 65 Open Class (The Heartbreak)
Moto 1 started off like a dream. Shelby ripped a monster start and was locked solidly into 3rd place, looking ready to podium. But the motocross gods had other plans. Right after crossing the finish line on lap 2, the bike overheated and blew a head gasket, forcing a brutal DNF.

By Moto 2, the rain came down and turned the track into pure survival mode—literally a test of who could keep their bike on two wheels the longest. Shelby was running a stellar race in the top 6 when the track claimed him. He dropped the bike in a bad spot, got it up, and immediately got swallowed by a deep mud hole right before a jump. He was stuck for almost the entire lap! But in true Wild Card fashion, he finally broke free and rode like absolute lightning to salvage 12th place, giving him 19th overall.

👉 SUNDAY: 65 (7-9) Class (The Masterclass)
Sunday was a pure display of the raw talent side of the Wild Card. Moto 1 started with a rare slow jump off the line, leaving him buried at the back of the pack going into the holeshot. What happened next was unreal—by turn 3, Shelby bypassed 95% of the field in a single sweep, charging all the way up to finish a phenomenal 8th! 🤯

Moto 2 brought more chaos. He picked a gate with a nasty, crooked rut that threw the bike completely sideways the second the gate dropped. Starting from dead last, he put his head down and went to work. He sliced his way through the field, grabbed 7th place, and fought tooth and nail to hold it to the checkered flag, locking in 7th OVERALL for the day! 🏆🏁

👊 FINALLY CRACKING THE TOP 10!This is our very first Top 10 overall at Lincoln Trail this year! He absolutely would have had this locked down a long time ago, but bad luck, wrecks, and deep mud holes have constantly stolen it from him right at the finish line. To finally shake off that bad luck and lock down a 7th overall against national-level kids who travel from all over the country is massive. These kids are insanely fast, and nothing is handed to you at Lincoln Trail.

Shelby showed everyone this weekend that no matter what cards he is dealt, he is going to play them hard.

🏁 LAST-MINUTE CHANGES, BACKUP BIKES, SAME PODIUM RESULTS! 🏁
We had a crazy twist of events this weekend! Not only did we change plans last minute to avoid the Sunday storms at Lincoln Trail, but Shelby pretty sure blew up his main 65 race bike during practice. 🛑 High stress mode kicked in, but we dusted off his 65 practice bike, lined up for one of our local series season openers, and Shelby absolutely delivered!He put in work across three classes today and showed everyone what he’s made of:🏆 65cc (7-9): Took his practice bike 3-3 for 3rd overall! Consistency at its finest.💨 65cc Open: Battled hard on the backup machine to lock down a solid 4th in both motos!🚀 85cc Beginner Debut: This was the highlight! Racing his 85 for the very first time, he went 3-3 for another 3rd overall podium! He actually stole 2nd at one point, but a quick missed shift dropped him back. Honestly, we will happily take a podium finish for his debut on the bigger bike!The best part of the weekend wasn't just the trophies—it was seeing the growth. Shelby rode faster with every single moto. He really started focusing on the techniques we’ve been working on, and it completely paid off on the track. Overcoming adversity on the 65 and crushing his debut on the 85!Huge thanks to everyone who supports Shelby's racing journey! Onto the next one! 🔋⚡️

Race Report: Back Home at Acen's MX! 🏁🥈
Unfortunately little brother and sister had mom and dad's phones this weekend so no pics were able to be taken :(

We took a little detour from our main travel series this weekend to race a local series we haven’t hit since last year.
To be completely honest, we didn't think we'd even make the gate this weekend because funds have been tight. But true friends step up when you need them most, and we are completely blown away by the generosity we experienced.Huge, heartfelt shout-outs to two incredible people:🏁 Our buddy Adam Seinwill stepped up out of nowhere and completely sponsored Shelby’s first class.🏁 Mom’s amazing friend Jennifer Janack stepped right up beside him and sponsored Shelby’s second class.Adam and Jen, we literally could not have paid the entry fees or lined up at the gate without you guys. You gave Shelby the chance to race at one of our absolute favorite tracks, and saying "thank you" doesn't even feel like enough. We are so incredibly grateful for your support and friendship! ❤️🙏

Now, to keep it 100% real... as a dad, I was a little frustrated during the motos. Shelby wasn't riding at 100% and looked to be at about 70% of his normal speed out there. It wasn’t the typical aggressive Shelby we are used to seeing at Acen's, and we definitely have some homework to do. But even on an off day, the kid dug deep to make sure Adam and Jen's support paid off!
He fought hard to take 2nd Overall in the 65 (7-9) class and walked away with a solid 5th Overall in the 65 Open!

🏁 Weekend Race Recap: Lincoln Trail Motosports 🏁 MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND
Speed, heart, and pure grit at Lincoln Trail this weekend! 🪵💨
We brought absolute heat to the track for the 3-moto format. The starts were dialed in, the jumps were on point, and the riding was some of the absolute best we’ve ever seen from him. He showed front-runner speed all weekend long!But as any racer knows, motocross can be brutal. We ran into a streak of crazy track chaos and bad luck in every single moto that hid just how fast he really was. He spent the weekend fighting forward from the back of the pack, proving he has the heart of a champion!Here is how the battle unfolded:🏆 7-9 Class (18th Overall out of 43)Moto 1: Ripped an incredible start and was charging hard inside the Top 8! 🚀 Unfortunately, a brutal, deep rut swallowed the bike. Got completely stuck and dropped a whole lap waiting for the track crew to pull it out, fighting back to cross the line 31st.Moto 2: Another great jump off the gate, but got tangled up in a massive pile-up right at the holeshot turn. Dropped to the absolute back of the pack, but put his head down, made a million passes, and clawed his way up to a heroic 18th place! 🛠️💪Moto 3: Finally got a cleaner track to show his true speed! Rode a smart, aggressive race to lock down a fantastic 11th place finish—his best moto of the class!🚀
Open Class (22nd Overall)The Chaos: Talk about a battlefield! Every single moto in the Open Class was a war zone filled with heavy pile-ups.The Fight: In one of the motos, the carnage was so bad he got launched completely over the handlebars! 🤯 But a true rider doesn't stay down. He bounced right back up, remounted, and kept charging.The Scores: Battled through the wreckage to go 26-19-20 for a hard-earned 22nd overall!The Takeaway: The overall scores don't even begin to show the true speed he had this weekend, but they proved something better: he has zero quit in him. Huge thank you to the track crew, family, and everyone cheering us on in the pits. We are taking this speed, resetting the luck, and getting ready to dominate the next one! 😤👊🔥

Friday at 4:30 PM is the longest hour of the week. You’re punching the clock at work, but your brain is already halfway home, mentally backing the truck up to the trailer. You aren't headed for a "relaxing" weekend—you’re about to trade your 9-to-5 for a 24/7 gig as a mechanic, coach, chef, and human ATM.The real race starts the second you pull into your driveway. It’s a frantic blur of hooking up the camper, triple-checking the tie-downs, and tossing that last gear bag in before the sun goes down. You finally hit the road, navigating a maze of trailers by the glow of your high beams at 10:00 PM. You set up camp in the dark, tripping over rocks and trying not to wake the neighbors, finally crawling into bed for four hours of "moto sleep"—which is mostly just lying awake wondering if you remembered to tighten the axle nut.Then, Saturday morning hits. You’re standing at the fence, and the "Parent Lean" kicks in. You know the one—you’re tilted so far sideways you’re practically horizontal, trying to physically pull your kid through the first turn with your mind. The gate drops, that roar of engines hits your chest, and for thirty seconds, you completely forget how to breathe. When they come over that first jump, elbows up and charging, your heart swells so big it hurts.But this sport isn't all podiums. It’s the "moto-parent heart attack" when you see a bike go down in the back section. The world stops. You’re squinting through the dust, heart in your throat, waiting for that helmet to move. And when they finally pick that heavy bike up, kick it back to life with grit in their teeth, and chase down the pack with a bent lever and a bruised ego—that’s when you realize you aren’t just raising a racer. You’re raising a kid who doesn't know how to stay down.It’s expensive. It’s exhausting. It’s greasy knuckles and a bank account that’s constantly screaming for mercy. It’s the frustration of a bike that won’t start and the Sunday afternoon "pack-up" that feels like it takes an eternity.The drive home is quiet. Looking in the rearview, you see a tired, dirty kid fast asleep against the window, still smelling like two-stroke smoke and sweat. By the time you’re unhooking the camper at midnight and power-washing ten pounds of track clay off the driveway, your neighbors think you’re crazy.But as you pick up a muddy glove from the truck bed, you realize you wouldn’t trade this chaos for a million bucks. We’re building something in these kids that a trophy can’t touch. We’re building resilience. We’re building memories. We’re building a bond that only a moto family understands.
