GM Bobby Taboada FQI's Cincinnati Balintawak Chapter Lineage

This year at the FCS Kali Intensive Camp KY 2026, I am honored and humbled to be recognized as "G**o" in Filipino Combat Systems.

This was a big surprise to me!!! Especially when Tuhon Ray announced the next award goes to "Masaman!!!"

For many that do not know, in typical FCS Kali events being refered to as "Masaman" is a friendly gesture of humor that corresponds to a nick name I acquired from Jason Torres who cannot say my last name...

So my first impression during the announcement was that this was a friendly joke then shock to realize quickly that there was a certificate with my name on it.. Very well played by Tuhon Ray Dionaldo and Lakan G**o Ernie Lake!!!

As a brief history, my journey in FCS Kali started over two decades ago when I was introduced to Tuhon Ray Dionaldo by GM Bobby Taboada in the World Sokeship Council event in Orlando, FL early 2000.

It was by chance and timing that I had other opportunities to meet and train informally with Tuhon Ray Dionaldo at other events including his participation as guest instructor at Taboada Balintawak World Camp 2011 in Charlotte, NC. .

In 2012, I was invited by LG Ernie Lake to join as a guest instructor to observe and evaluate an FCS Kali Level Test Program. This was the year I declared my formal training started in FCS Kali

My continued thanks to Tuhon Ray Dionaldo for sharing his inspiration, evolution, and wealth of knowledge in the Filipino Martial Arts through FCS Kali.

My personal thanks to Lakan G**o Ernie Lake for his guiadance, tutelage, and primary invitation to be part of FCS Kali.
