Back by popular demand, we’re running the “Elder Wrestling NFL Pick’em Fundraiser Pool 2026-2027”. Feel free to invite others, even if they aren’t Elder Wrestling alumni. Information about the pool can be found below. Last year we had 50 participants and would like 75+ this year, so please invite whoever!

How to participate:

Email Ryan Ruffing at [email protected] by September 7th stating you want to participate.
Ryan will reply to arrange collection of the $50 entry fee. Payment must be made by September 7th via Venmo, Cash or Check.
Ryan will provide a “personalized” Google Sheet that you will use to make your picks all year.
Game Rules:

You will pick 1 NFL team from Week 1 through Week 15 of the regular season.
You cannot reuse a team that you have previously picked.
Weekly picks must be submitted by kick-off of the first game that week.
If the team you picked that week wins, you receive the amount of points they win by.
If the team you picked that week ties or loses, you receive 0 points.
If you do not pick a team, you receive 0 points.
Points are accumulated from Week 1 through Week 15.
The 3 participants with the most accumulated points from Week 1 through Week 15 will receive a payout (60/30/10)% of the split. Example: 100 entries x $50/entry = $5,000 total. $2,500 goes to Elder wrestling. $2,500 payout (60/30/10)% to the top 3 participants.
Criteria in the case of a tie among the top 3: 1) participant who picked the most winning teams, then 2) participant who scored the most points in Week 15, followed by Week 14, etc. down to Week 1, then 4) a coin flip

Open mats will be led by Elder Wrestling alum Konner Lambers.

Konner was a standout wrestler at Elder before continuing his collegiate career at Ohio University. During his time at Elder, he was a 4-time OHSAA State Qualifier, 3-time OHSAA State Placer, and finished his career with 179 victories.

Unfortunately due to the art show we will not be able to practice at Elder the week of April 20th.
