lately, I’ve been on the champagne coast, at live concerts, catching fly balls and reconnecting with faves 🍾🥂💫❤️ ☀️

I’ve been on the road so much this year, it has been nice to be home for a bit to enjoy the city this summer.

🩷 One year ago I blindly arrived for my first mammogram. I work in wellness, so I knew the general idea of what would happen, but after receiving surprise news, I wish I were more mentally prepared to ask questions.

After all, I’ll be doing this for the rest of my life!

So, I’d love to ask, if you have you ever delayed a mammogram because you were afraid of what they might find… don’t. Because they did on mine- the first one I had ever had- and I’m grateful that I now have the knowledge to move forward.

So many of us tell ourselves, “I’ll do it next month.” Or “I’m sure it’s nothing.” Or we avoid making the appointment because we’re afraid the phone might ring afterward.

I get it.

But here’s what I wish someone had told me:

✨ Ask if you have dense breasts—and what that means for your screening.
✨ Don’t be afraid to ask, “What happens if you find something?”
✨ Remember that being called back for additional imaging is common, and most callbacks are not cancer.

Fear loves uncertainty.

Information gives you options.

If you’re due for a mammogram, don’t wait until you’re “less busy” or “less nervous.”

Make the appointment.

Your future self deserves that kind of care. 💗

Tell me in the comments if you’ve gotten your mammogram this year, or if you’re scheduled!
Let’s have the conversation more of us need to hear.

In seasons like this, I see glimmers of her.
That wide-eyed creative who loved to dance, nerd out on art history and host parties for hundreds of friends. That teenage girl who had no idea what was in store for her ahead, but she went forward anyways.

Growing up attending a school like Oak Hills that had so many options for activities, friend groups and courses, I had time to figure out the type of person I wanted to become (and, frankly, avoid).

Looking back now, I’m so grateful for the chance to build a strong sense of self to weather the ups and downs of adulthood, parenthood and business. In times of transition, I often remember a quote I first heard in high school by Heraclitus- “the only constant is change.”

Thank you Diane Weidner for all you do for Oak Hills Highlanders and for honoring me with this prestigious recognition, to Kelly Calhoun for speaking on my behalf and to all fellow alumni who have congratulated me!

am I… zen?

I’ve always been a “calm under pressure” type of leader, but when my wellness is out of alignment I find myself catastrophizing even the most minor of inconveniences.

Whoever needs to hear this- it’s *probably* not that serious (and if it is, this advice still applies 🙌) Call me after you move your body, hydrate and have a nap.
