One of the greatest players in Mount St. Joseph Baseball history has earned another incredible honor.

Steve Matre has been named First Team Reliever on D3baseball.com's 50th Anniversary Golden Team, celebrating the greatest players in NCAA Division III baseball history!

A two-time D3baseball.com All-American, HCAC Most Valuable Player, and 2023 Mount St. Joseph Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, Matre was the only representative from the HCAC to be selected.

During his remarkable career, Matre:
⚾ 32 career saves (still the MSJ record)
⚾ 1.19 career ERA (program record)
⚾ Two-time D3baseball.com All-American
⚾ HCAC Most Valuable Player
⚾ Drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 39th round of the MLB Draft
