A New Name. A Lasting Legacy. ⚾️

Last night, the Washington County School Board officially approved naming the Chipley High School baseball field Andy Compton Field, honoring Coach Compton and his years of leading the Tigers.

His legacy includes a state championship, multiple district championships, and countless young men he has invested in and impacted along the way.

An official dedication ceremony will take place during the upcoming season.

A HUGE thank you to all the players and parents who came out today to help get our baseball field ready for the Alumni Game on October 24th! ⚾️

We got a LOT accomplished — pressure washing the stands and concrete, edging, weed-eating, cleaning the concession stand and bathrooms, and plenty more!

We appreciate everyone who showed up and put in the work.

🐅⚾ Welcome Coach Max Havel to Chipley Tiger Baseball! ⚾🐅

Chipley High School is excited to welcome Coach Max Havel as the next Head Baseball Coach of the Chipley Tigers.

Coach Havel brings more than 23 years of coaching experience and a lifelong passion for the game. As a player, he competed at Chipola College and the University of Georgia, where he was part of the Bulldogs' 2001 SEC Championship team and a College World Series appearance.

Throughout his coaching career, Coach Havel has been part of successful Northwest Florida baseball programs, including Mosley, Marianna, and Bay High School. He and his wife, Jesica, a Chipley High School alumna, along with their children Camdyn, Brayden, and Aubrey, are excited to call Chipley home.

Please join us in welcoming Coach Havel and his family to the Tiger family!

🐅⚾ Thank You, Coach Compton ⚾🐅

As many of you probably know, Coach Andy Compton announced earlier this year that he would be retiring from Chipley High School Baseball.

For more than two decades as Head Baseball Coach, Coach Compton led the Tigers with passion, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to his players. His impact reaches far beyond the field, helping shape generations of young men while building one of the most successful eras in Chipley Baseball history.

His accomplishments include numerous district championships, multiple regional semifinal appearances, a state runner-up finish, and the 2023 FHSAA State Championship—the first baseball state championship in school history.

Thank you, Coach Compton, for your dedication to Chipley High School, your players, and our community.
