AYALA HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL — VARSITY CATCHING COACH

Ayala High School is looking to add a Varsity Catching Coach to our baseball coaching staff.

Must-Haves:
• Strong knowledge of the catching position
• Previous coaching experience at the high school or college level OR playing experience as a catcher at the college or professional level
• Ability to teach and develop catchers in all areas of the position, including receiving, blocking, throwing, footwork, game management, and leadership
• Commitment to developing high-character student-athletes and contributing to the culture of Ayala Baseball

This is an opportunity to work with a competitive varsity program and play a major role in the development of our catchers.

Any two-sport athletes who are unable to attend today will need to meet tomorrow (Tuesday) during lunch at the baseball field.

🚨 UPDATE ON TRYOUTS!! 🚨

For the second round of tryouts, we are going to have ALL GRADES (9–12) together as we narrow down and finalize our teams.

You only need to attend ONE tryout to be eligible to make the team. However, these additional three days will give players more opportunities to showcase their skills and allow those who were unable to attend the first round additional opportunities to compete.

📅 SECOND ROUND TRYOUT DATES
🔴 Thursday, August 13 — 3:40 PM
🔴 Friday, August 14 — 3:40 PM
🔴 Saturday, August 15 — 9:00 AM
Grades 9–12 on ALL THREE DAYS

🔒 CLOSED TRYOUT SESSION

Please note that tryouts will be a closed evaluation to provide the best environment for all participants. We respectfully ask that parents, family members, and spectators do not attend the tryout sessions.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we work to provide the best possible evaluation experience for all players.

🚨 IMPORTANT

Players must be fully cleared through our athletic trainer in order to participate.

Thank you to everyone who came out and competed in our first round of tryouts! ⚾️

Congratulations to the players listed who have earned a spot in the program following the first round.

Players who have been selected will NOT participate in the second round of tryouts. We will utilize the smaller group of players attending this week to continue evaluating and narrow down the remaining selections.

For those who have not yet made a team, as well as those who were unable to attend the first round, our second week of tryouts will take place Thursday–Saturday as we work to fill out the remaining roster spots.

REMINDER: There will be a MANDATORY parent meeting on August 19th for all players who are selected to a team. More information will be provided to those selected.

🚨🚨 TRYOUT UPDATE 🚨🚨

Due to our Flag Football team hosting their season-opening tournament on Saturday (August 8) and the limited parking on campus because of ongoing construction, Saturday’s baseball tryout has been canceled.

Tryouts on Thursday, Friday, and all dates next week will continue as scheduled.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility!

* This is a closed session. We kindly ask that all parents, family members, and friends drop off their student-athlete and return at the conclusion of the tryout.
* Please arrive with:
* Athletic attire

Our tryout dates and times have been set. Players only need to attend ONE tryout date to be eligible to make the team.

🇺🇸 Happy 4th of July, everyone! 🎆

We hope everyone is enjoying their summer and taking time to celebrate with family and friends.

It’s hard to put the words together knowing our season ended yesterday. Although it wasn’t the outcome we expected, it was one heck of a season finishing 24-5. I enjoyed every moment with this group, and it’s hard to believe I won’t suit up with this team anymore.

To our seniors - I’ve seen many of you grow from young teenagers into young adults, as the majority of you were 4-year varsity guys. You were my first freshman class as a head coach, and I couldn’t have asked for a better group. Thank you for everything over these last four years. It has been the most enjoyable part of my coaching career watching you become great young men. Thank you for everything you did for our program, the sacrifice, the culture you helped instill, and most of all, becoming a family.

I can’t wait to have you guys back during your breaks to share memories and continue being part of this program. Just know you will always have a place at Ayala to call home.

To our underclassmen…hold on to this feeling and use it as fuel for next year. The seniors laid the foundation, and now it’s on you guys to continue building on what they leave behind. Although this feeling isn’t fun, I’m excited for the future of the program and eager to get back to work with you guys.

Thank you Bulldog Baseball family for an unforgettable season. ❤️
