🥋 13 YEARS OF TAI CHI—A LIFETIME OF LEADERSHIP

Today, we proudly celebrate Coach Richard “Dick” Trimmer’s 13th anniversary of practicing Tai Chi Chuan at Azad’s Martial Arts Center with Grandmaster Azad!

Long before joining our Tai Chi family, Coach Trimmer spent a decade as Chico State’s head football coach and was later inducted into the Chico State Athletic Hall of Fame for his contributions to generations of student-athletes.

But his greatest legacy extends far beyond victories and honors. It is found in the lives he has influenced, the character he demonstrates, and the kindness and generosity he shares with others.

Coach Trimmer is an absolute gem—an outstanding student of Tai Chi Chuan and a remarkable example of resilience, leadership, and lifelong growth. He continues to show all of us that true strength is not defined by age or circumstance, but by the courage to keep moving forward and inspiring others along the way.

We love having Coach Trimmer at Azad’s Martial Arts Center. His presence brings joy to our Dojang, and our children especially love seeing him and feeling his wonderful spirit.

Congratulations on 13 outstanding years, Coach! Your life, leadership, and generous heart continue to make our community—and our world—a better place. We love and appreciate you! ❤️🙏🥋

🥋❤️ SOMETIMES THE BIGGEST WINS DON’T COME WITH A TROPHY.

Twelve months ago, this little champion walked into Azad’s Martial Arts Center at just 4 years old.

Like most 4-year-olds, she had plenty of energy! 😊 But focus, listening, and paying attention to the little details? Those were skills still waiting to grow.

And grow they did.

Today, the difference is remarkable.

🥋 She listens with greater purpose.
🥋 Her focus and attention to detail have dramatically improved.
🥋 She follows directions with confidence.
🥋 And those skills are carrying beyond Azad’s—into her school and everyday life.

Look at her in this picture. ❤️
Focused. Present. Ready.

That’s the victory.

Because at Azad’s, we’re not simply teaching children how to kick and punch. Through Jongshindo Martial Arts, we’re helping them learn how to focus, persevere, believe in themselves, and become champions in life.

Today, this young lady isn’t just becoming a champion at Azad’s.

She’s becoming a champion at school, too. 🏆

Watching children grow like this is one of the greatest privileges of what we do.

We LOVE what we do, and we LOVE watching our kids discover what they’re capable of. ❤️🥋

🥋 When you want to kick HIGH… sometimes you need a little BOOST! 😂🚀

At Azad’s Martial Arts Center, we take building confident kids seriously…

But we definitely don’t take ourselves too seriously! 😄

Sometimes a young Jongshindo student just needs Grandmaster Azad to provide a little extra “air support” to reach the target! 😂🥋🚀

Look at that kick! And even better—look at the smiles on the kids watching. ❤️

Moms, this is what we want Jongshindo Martial Arts to feel like for your child:

“I CAN DO THIS!”

A place where kids are encouraged to try, challenged to grow, allowed to laugh, and surrounded by instructors who genuinely want to see them succeed.

Because when kids love where they learn, they love learning. And somewhere between the kicks, high-fives, laughter, and “Can I do it again?!”… they’re developing confidence, courage, discipline, and a belief in themselves that can reach far beyond the training floor.

And yes… at Azad’s Martial Arts Center, Grandmaster-assisted flying kicks are occasionally included. 😂🚀🥋

WE COULDN’T BE PROUDER OF HER. ❤️🥋

Today, she earned her white belt at Azad’s Martial Arts Center.

To some, it may look like the first belt.

We see something much bigger.

We see a woman who made the decision to show up for herself.

To learn.
To challenge herself.
To become stronger.
To improve her health.
To learn how to protect herself.
And to continue growing mentally, physically and spiritually.

There is something incredibly inspiring about a woman who refuses to put an age limit on becoming stronger.👍🥳

Strength has no expiration date.
Confidence has no age limit.
And personal growth never has to stop.

That is why we are so proud of her today.👏👏👏

Not simply because she earned a white belt—but because she had the pure courage to begin a new journey.

And perhaps there is another woman reading this right now who has been thinking about doing something for herself…

Getting healthier.
Becoming stronger.
Learning self-defense.
Building confidence.
Trying something she never thought she could do.

Maybe her smile is the reminder you needed:
