Wilderness First Aid is being offered at the range on September 26 and 27! We're excited to partner with Lifeline Training Center for this important education opportunity.

Wilderness First Aid is a community-level course designed for situations where professional medical help is an hour or more away. Unlike standard first aid, this training focuses on the unique challenges of managing illness and injury in remote environments when emergency services are not immediately available.

Whether you are navigating long trails, remote waterways, or miles of road, environmental factors like extreme temperatures, wind, and darkness can complicate care. This course will teach you how to improvise equipment and apply creative treatments when communication and resources are limited.

It's going to be a great evening at the Chico Community Observatory tomorrow, check it out!

Thursday, August 27, 2026, there will be a near total lunar eclipse. It peaks at 9:13pm. We will be open for this special event, starting at sunset. Come on out.

Update (2pm, Aug 27): The weather forecast isn't great, with increasing clouds throughout the evening. The expected cloud cover at the time of maximum eclipse (9:13lm) is 31%. Nevertheless, we still plan to open.

🛠️ Exciting news - construction has begun early! We are looking forward to new exterior siding and other structural upgrades.

🚨 Affected activities - for a few weeks, weekday morning range activities will be put on hold. This includes Tuesday morning pistol practice, and Thursday morning F-class r***e.
