John Adams made a very generous donation to the race. What we are doing with this money is starting the Nick DeGroot memorial fund which will provide a free entry to a runner every year that is battling an obstacle or facing adversity.

It is very fitting that the donor, Mr. Adam is in the heart business.

We are looking forward to telling you about the first recipient for the 2027 race. And hoping Bonnie comes back to give the runner their buckle.

That runner, and every subsequent runner who has this honor will wear number 35. (thanks for the idea Lesa).
