A beautiful evening at Osaka Garden for this year’s Toro Nagashi ceremony.
We were grateful to support this beautiful tradition and to gather with the community as lanterns were floated in remembrance and reflection.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening so special.

This Thursday, we are honored to participate in the annual Toro Nagashi Lantern Ceremony at Jackson Park’s Osaka Garden, joining the Chicago Park District and fellow community partners to share this beautiful Buddhist tradition.
Held at the close of the Obon season, Toro Nagashi ("floating lanterns") is a ceremony of remembrance in which candle-lit lanterns are released onto the water to honor loved ones who have passed. Today, it also serves as a shared expression of peace, compassion, and hope for the future.
Attendance is first-come, first-served, and registration is no longer required. Participation is available while capacity permits.
