Jones Payton Girls Waterpolo brought home its 4th-straight city title this year in a 9-5 victory over Lane at the UIC Natatorium.

Rising senior Georgia Motykowski scored four goals for the Greagles, while Lane’s Tatiana Haynes scored all five of the Champions’ goals.

The Eagles swept at Softball City Championships in May, with Varsity finishing off an undefeated CPL season in a 2-1 victory over Amundsen.

Taft senior pitcher Michaela Power (NIU commit), struck out 9 batters and allowed just 5 hits and only 1 earned run over 7 innings.

“I talk to my players about chasing greatness all the time,” said head coach Anthony Padilla. “That’s our motto. That’s something I try to instill in my players and everything that we do (in this program) revolves around striving for that excellence.”
