YES, you should be taking creatine… here’s why!

You’ve probably seen it all over your feed, from fitness influencers to health gurus swearing by it.

Why?

This powerhouse supplement does more than pump up muscles. It boosts your strength for those morning walks or pickup games, helps your muscles recover faster so you’re not sore for days, and even keeps your brain sharp for those busy work-from-home Zoom calls.

Worried about aging? Creatine helps maintain muscle mass and supports bone health, keeping you active and strong as the years roll on. It’s safe, backed by science, and won’t break the bank.

Toss a scoop in your smoothie and feel the difference—your body (and brain) will thank you!

It’s like tax here, there’s no way to avoid it.

As we get older, single-leg strength matters more than ever.

Nearly everything you do in daily life—walking, stairs, standing up, running—happens on one leg at a time. Training it keeps those movements smooth and powerful.

It also helps correct imbalances. One side is always a bit stronger; single-leg work forces each leg to pull its own weight so you don’t end up compensating and creating poor patterns.

Single-leg training builds stability, which is your body’s ability to control itself. More stability = less wobbling, more confidence moving through space, and a lower chance of falls as you age.

And when the hips and ankles get stronger and more stable, mobility improves. You actually move better because the muscles around your joints support motion instead of restricting it.

At Lift Chicago, we know training isn’t just about sets and reps.

It’s about showing your family what consistency looks like. What confidence looks like. What health looks like.

Today she wanted to go “up” 20 times. Tomorrow she’ll remember that movement was normal in our home.

Busy adults don’t need perfect routines. They need the right environment, a clear plan, and coaches who make it sustainable.

That’s what we do every day at Lift.

Truth hurts at times, but we are here to tell you what you want to hear. In general, most people under consume the amount of protein they need to build muscle tissue, enhance recovery, and lose fat.

We recommend consuming 0.8-1g of protein per pound of bodyweight per day.

You may be asking, why?

Here’s a few solid reasons:

1️⃣ Build Muscle: Protein is the building block of muscle tissue. When you work out, especially during strength training, your muscles experience tiny tears. Consuming enough protein helps repair these tears, leading to muscle growth and increased strength. By aiming for 0.8g-1g of protein per pound of bodyweight, you’re giving your body the necessary fuel to build and maintain muscle mass effectively.

2️⃣ Boost Recovery: After a tough workout, your muscles need to recover. Protein plays a crucial role in this process by repairing muscle fibers and reducing muscle soreness. Proper recovery is essential for making progress and avoiding injuries. By ensuring you get enough protein, you’re helping your body recover faster, so you can get back to your workouts feeling strong and ready.

3️⃣ Stay Satiated: Protein isn’t just for muscles; it also helps keep you full and satisfied. Including an adequate amount of protein in your diet can help with weight management by reducing hunger and preventing overeating. This is especially important if you’re trying to lose weight or maintain a healthy body composition while reaching your fitness goals.
