Game changer…

The balance board essentially will retrain your entire body to correct imbalances and strengthen neural connections. 

It is great for joint recovery post injury, and enhances proprioception. 💪🏻🧠

If you suffer with plantar fasciitis this is an excellent way to strengthen your arches and the small intrinsic foot muscles that improve weight distribution.

If you’re a martial artist this is a great tool to strengthen your lateral movement and stability when cutting angles.

It’s not your age that determines your strength and quality of movement…

It’s the movement itself.

Yet doctors will sooner give you a prescription and suggest surgeries that leave you needing more of both, than to have you reflect on a few keys areas that can be addressed at home.👇🏻

Sleep: Are you getting 6-8 hours a night?
(Cue the excuses…turn off the screen an go to bed)

✨Movement: Are you starting your day with it? What does it look like? Is it consistent? (We will come back to this👇🏻)

Consumption: 👉🏻 Don’t overcomplicate this part

In: Whole foods, animal protein (plant proteins for supplementation), good fats, dairy, veggies, fruits, and yes carbohydrates.

⚠️ Stay away from 👉🏻 Ultra-processed anything. I know how hard this is and let’s face it, you’re not going to be able to completely stay away unless you have your own homestead (one day 🙌🏻🏡).

The point?👇🏻

✨Movement is the number one thing that you have control over, and it will greatly effect your sleep and what happens with the things you consume.

So, before you blame your age for how you move and feel, consider your habits.

✨If you consistently move your body in a way that builds strength, balance and coordination, your sleep will improve and you will start converting those calories into energy and muscle. ⚡️💪🏻

This ultimately leads to a longer, healthier, happier life.

As parents it is our job to show up for our children.

That might mean providing financially, being present at the family dinner, or giving two minutes of your time because she wants to dance. 💃🕺

It’s not always easy. We have so much on our minds between work, nurturing relationships and our own self care, many times showing up is hard.

Bottom line…you have to do it.
