Meet the rest of your 2026–27 Chicago Central V and JV boys coaching staff!

Alex Smat returns for his second season with the program, stepping into a Varsity Assistant and Goaltending Coach role. A Chicago-area native and veteran goaltender, Alex played at John Carroll University's ACHA Division 1 program and helped JCU reach the 2022 ACHA National Tournament.

Daniel Witte is back for his second season as a Varsity Assistant Coach. A Milwaukee native and Marquette University High School alum, Daniel brings energy, passion, and a love for the game to everything he does on and off the ice.

Julia Maguire joins the JV staff as Assistant Coach, bringing nearly two decades of hockey experience to the program. A former NCAA player at Mercyhurst and Lindenwood University, Julia is a Level 2 USA Hockey certified coach who has worked with players and teams across the country.

We're thrilled to have this group in place for the 2026–27 season. Big things ahead!

Please join us in welcoming Viktor Kulik as your 2026–27 Boys JV Head Coach!

Viktor brings a unique international hockey background to Chicago Central, having grown up playing competitive travel hockey across Slovakia and the Czech Republic before making his way to the United States. Now a Level 4 USA Hockey certified coach, he comes to us from Las Vegas where he coached multiple U14 travel teams and the Bishop Gorman High School program. Viktor is excited to bring his wealth of experience to our JV program and help develop the next wave of Central players.

Please join us in welcoming Marcus Mathurin as your 2026–27 Boys Varsity Head Coach!

A lifelong Chicagoan, Marcus brings a deep connection to the local hockey community and a strong understanding of what the game demands on and off the ice. After playing club hockey at the University of Illinois, he began his coaching career at the junior varsity level before serving as our JV Head Coach last season. Now stepping into the varsity role, Marcus is focused on skill development, accountability, and building a program our players and families can be proud of.
We're excited to have him leading the way this season. Let's go Central!

It's tryout time! Boys Varsity & JV hit the ice TODAY at 3:20 PM and again Sunday at 10:00 AM at the Blackhawks Ice Center.

All players are expected to attend both days. Walk-in registration available at the door.
