Open Water Swim Chicago

Who's ready for one final OWS? Today's session is focused on race prep for this weekend's Supertri Chicago. Following the event, a special pre-race Athlete Briefing will be held at Caffe' Oliva around 8:00 PM. Attendees will receive a token allowing them to bypass the mandatory briefings at the Expo (all are welcome to attend that session).

Congratulations to everyone who embraced yesterday's challenging conditions and experienced the full power of Lake Michigan. It wasn't easy, but it was invaluable preparation for race day. Keep the momentum going—just 25 days until Chi Tri!

🚨 WEATHER UPDATE! ⚠️
Ohio Street Beach is currently open and operating under a YELLOW flag. This means swimming is permitted along the shallow areas parallel to the beach.

At this point, we plan to host this afternoon's event along the same timelines and within the provided swim area (the seawall course may be off-limits this afternoon).

Chicago's weather changes on a dime, and we may need to adapt in real time. While safety is paramount to our operation, we will not prematurely cancel until we have a concrete reason to do so.

Plan to arrive as originally instructed. More details will be shared at the beach. Our team will be on-site shortly, work alongside the Park District's leadership, and provide updates on Facebook and the home page of our website.

Who's ready? All swimmers enrolled in tomorrow's OWS session were sent a confirmation earlier today (and last Friday) with everything you need to know. Visit Event Day Details online if needed.

We're aware of the Beach Hazards Statement but hoping OSB's breaker wall will keep us on track. We'll share any updates here, but plan for a great event assuming the beach remains swimmable.
