Wow, what a weekend! The RC community we have is awesome! We want to say thank you to everyone that made the trip and braved the weather all weekend to race. Anyone that jumped in and grabbed brooms, rakes, shovels, sump pumps, or even a pick axe, we greatly greatly appreciate your help. Without the support and help of you racers, this event wouldn’t be possible. It’s crazy that we ended the weekend with the track we did, considering the track was under water multiple times. Thank you again to all of you.

We also want to give one more shout out to all of our sponsors that helped put this race on. Tyrrell Auto Centers for sponsoring cash night, Patriot Diesel & Automotive LLC for all the raffle prizes, Miller Insulation Co., Inc. for building a great stand for us to drive on, and Rifle Remote Control Park for their donation.

All in all this weekend turned out to be a great success and we as a club are very excited to get the facility going again on a more consistent basis.

Tomorrow is main day!

Track will open at 7:30 in the morning for practice. We will run practice until 8:15. We will start our pit meeting at 8:20 in the morning where we will draw for raffle prizes as well as the 50/50 drawing. Racing will start at 9:00 in the morning!

Most the water is off the track. Track still needs some time to dry. We are going to push the start of practice a little bit this morning.

Here it is! The 2026 Cheyenne Showdown layout. Thanks to Rob and Jordan on the track build and design.

We’re excited to start seeing everyone tomorrow. As everyone starts arriving, it’s important to note:

1) Parking is first come first. Please find Kollin or Blaine before you park, we want to maximize the space that we have and make sure we are not blocking lanes we need around the track.

2) As you finish setting we please ask that you move your vehicles outside the fence to park. We have plenty of parking right outside our fenced area with a walkthrough gate to get back.

3) Please make sure we are respecting the property and cleaning up after ourselves. There is a dump bed trailer in the back of the property to put all trash in.

We wanted to give everyone a quick update with the easiest route to get to the track. It’s been a little while since we have all been here and fair just got done with so some of the roads are still blocked off from that. The red route shows the easiest most direct way to get to the track once you get off the interstate.

We also wanted to give another HUGE shoutout to the guys over in rifle at Rifle Remote Control Park (Brad, Matt, Chris and Ryan) as well as the racers from the Redneck Nationals and say thank you for their donation to the club so we can put on the Cheyenne Showdown this year. If you see any of these guys around this weekend, make sure to say thanks to them!

We want to shout out another supporter of the Cheyenne Showdown and extend a big thanks to Miller Insulation Co., Inc. They got some scaffolding put up giving us a place to stand and race from! Definitely no blind spots on this thing!

Also a little sneak peak for everyone…

Sunday’s edition of the Cheyenne Showdown brings us main day! Nitro A-mains will be 30 minutes with electric mains being 8 minutes.

We also want to give a big thanks to another one of our sponsors. Patriot Diesel & Automotive LLC supports the Southeast Wyoming RC club in many ways. They are providing some awesome raffle prizes this weekend. Make sure to buy some raffle tickets and try and take some goodies home with you!

Saturday’s edition of the Cheyenne Showdown brings us qualifying day! Qualifying will consist of 3 rounds. Classes for the showdown will be split into expert and sportsman, along with novice and 40+ classes.

We will also have a food truck on site. Tacos Doña Mari will be at the track both Friday and Saturday serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Make sure to stop by and get some great food from them.
