On Wednesday, October 14, the Katz JCC presents Cold War in Philly: Flyers vs Russia, a special screening of the film directed by Joe Amodei, followed by a Q&A panel moderated by Inquirer sports columnist Mike Sielski.

And that’s just the beginning. Join us for an exclusive MVP pre-reception featuring former Flyers players Joe Watson, Jimmy Watson, Brad Marsh and Larry “Izzy” Goodenough, with additional special guests joining us for this unforgettable evening.

Whether you lived through the era or are discovering the story for the first time, this is a chance to experience an incredible piece of Philadelphia sports history with the people who were there.

Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the heroes and first responders who answered the call that day.

In recognition of the 25th anniversary of 9/11, the Jewish War Veterans Post 126 of Cherry Hill and the South Jersey Men’s Club gathered at the Katz JCC to place flags in remembrance of those who lost their lives. We were honored to be joined by local police officers and firefighters as we came together to remember, reflect and honor the lasting impact of September 11.

25 years later, we remember. We honor. We will never forget.

What a beautiful way to welcome the new year together. ❤️ More than 150 members of our 60+ community came together for our Rosh Hashanah Lunch, sharing a delicious meal, meaningful conversation and the joy of being together as we begin a new year.

As we enter a season of renewal and a new Jewish year, we’re also beginning an exciting new chapter at the Katz JCC.

Please join us in welcoming Sara Sideman as our new Executive Director. Having served the JCC in many capacities, Sara knows firsthand the heart of this community and all that makes this place so special. Now, she’s ready to help lead us into what’s next.

Last week, our teens headed to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty for a day of exploring, learning, and seeing some of the history that helped shape our country.

A big thank you to the Jewish Community Fund Grants Foundation and the Amy & Barney Kaplan Endowment Fund for helping make this trip possible and giving our teens the opportunity to learn and experience something new together.
