Here are a few ways to make the most of September 4–7:

🌊 Start the morning on the water before the harbor gets busy, then head into the city for brunch or waterfront dining.

🐋 Book a whale watch or sightseeing cruise and let someone else take the helm for an afternoon.

🥁 On Sunday, September 6, take the ferry to Spectacle Island for Sunday Funday and Bomba by the Sea—a participatory celebration of Puerto Rican music, dance and storytelling.

🤍 On Monday, September 7, Tall Ship Boston hosts its Labor Day White Party on the East Boston waterfront.

🚶 Explore a new section of the Boston Harborwalk, grab dinner in the Seaport, North End or East Boston, and finish the day with a sunset view over the water.

Whether you spend the weekend cruising, exploring the waterfront or simply relaxing at the marina, don’t rush the unofficial end of summer. There is still plenty of boating season ahead.

Planning to explore the island? Bring your own dinghy or inflatable. The Spectacle Island marina is currently closed, and private boats cannot use the dock for passenger drop-off or pickup.

There’s plenty to look forward to around the waterfront this fall:

🎨 September 12–13: The free Boston Arts Festival brings local artists and live music to Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park.

🎶 September 19: Soulful Bliss Sunset Island Vibes takes over Spectacle Island for an afternoon and evening of music by the harbor.

🍽️ September 20: The Boston Local Food Festival returns to the Rose Kennedy Greenway with nearly 100 local vendors, cooking demonstrations and plenty to sample.

🌅 Sunset Lighthouse Cruises continue into the fall, offering a completely different view of Boston Light, Graves Light and the outer harbor.

⛴️ October 10–12: Enjoy $5 ferry service to Spectacle and Peddocks during the Boston Harbor Islands’ fall ferry weekend.

And between the events? Crisp-air cruises, earlier sunsets, striped bass season and some of the most comfortable boating days of the year.

Wet or dry storage? The right choice depends on your boat and how you plan to use it.

⚓ Dry storage keeps your boat out of the water for the winter and includes haul-out, power washing, blocks and stands, monitoring, and spring launch.

🌊 Wet storage may be a better fit if you prefer to keep your boat in the water or want extended seasonal access. Bubblers and on-site care help protect vessels throughout the colder months.
