The Gaps Between Us: Why Human Trafficking Thrives When Communities Dont Work Together 07/01/2026

Human trafficking rarely happens in isolation. Often, the warning signs are seen by multiple people—teachers, healthcare workers, churches, neighbors, law enforcement, parents—but no one sees the whole picture.

Drawing from years of frontline collaboration, Sarah McKinnis, Co-Founder and CEO of Willowbend Farms, will explore why collaboration across communities and systems is one of the most critical—and overlooked—tools in prevention and restoration.

You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of how trafficking hides in plain sight, why fragmented responses fail, and what ordinary people and organizations can do differently.

Love Without Reason's People, Not Products webimar attendees will leave with practical prevention strategies and access to free, credible resources to strengthen child protection in their own communities.

Hope in Hard Places: Stories and Lessons from the Frontlines of Fighting Human Trafficking

Dr. Natalie Eastman — co-host of the People, Not Products webinar series, advisory board member for LoveWithoutReason.org’s anti-trafficking initiatives, and longtime volunteer with Women At Risk International — recently returned from Southeast Asia, where she visited programs serving survivors of human trafficking and met with W.A.R. partners from several countries in the region. She went to learn, to listen, to encourage those doing this difficult work, and to better understand how to be a light in a very dark space — speaking for the silenced, defending the oppressed, and supporting those who are helping women and children rebuild their lives.

In this presentation, Dr. Natalie will share what she saw, what she learned, and how the experience changed her. Join us for this lunchtime Zoom presentation on April 8 at 12:00 PM Eastern for an hour of stories, reflection, and hope. Feel free to bring your lunch as you listen and consider how ordinary people can make a meaningful difference in a very complex problem.
