MOBILITY
While flexibility is important, mobility is the key to not only success in riding, but in life. The ability to move and move freely is something that most people take for granted. For riders, improved mobility off the horse means that you’ll be able to move more freely and in sync with your horse.
These are dynamic stretches that I do before I head to the barn as well as before I lift at the gym. I was working a desk job recently and my hip flexors had gotten so tight in such a little amount of time. Those tight hip flexors were causing me almost constant back pain and severely limiting my lifting abilities. I have found this routine to allow some initial blood flow, wake up my hip flexors and back, and as a progressive push to greater ankle, knee, and hip flexibility. The before workouts or riding to create movement, not static stretches. You’ll notice I won’t hold any movement too long but I will work through and repeat.
Details about each video are in the comments! 🤍 if you have any questions or want to see something specifically, comment or send me a dm 😊
