Congratulations to our two girls for this past weekend!

Abby, Chicken, came in clutch no matter where she was put in the field and secured several outs for us!

Maddie, for pitching solid innings in games, and making some beautiful stretches at first base!

Keep up the hard work girls!

Us coaches are so proud!

Stay tuned for our schedule for 9/26!

Congratulations to our #5, Alivia Brown!

Though our tournament got rained out and we didn’t get to win a bracket game and give out an MVP award.

We thought it was important to recognize our own!

Liv stepped up to the plate and was patient! And it helped! She had no issues hitting the ball! Making her bat 1.000 this past weekend!

Congrats Liv, on being our MVP this week!

Stay tuned for the Widows schedule for this weekend and for a new MVP next week!

🕷️❤️🖤 FIRST TOURNAMENT. FIRST STATEMENT. 🖤❤️🕷️

The Coul Oak Black Widows 12u made their tournament debut in Cornelius this weekend, and WOW… what a way to start! 🔥

🥉 3rd Place — Gold Bracket

🏆 3rd out of 12 teams

💥 31 runs scored in just 2 games + 1 inning

🔥 .516 team batting average - with Alivia Brown #5 batting 1.000 for the day!

👀 7 walks — these girls were PATIENT at the plate!

⚡ 3 pitchers combining for less than 120 pitches, with multiple strikeouts along the way!

And then came Mother Nature. 🌧️

We were rolling into the semi-final game with a 4-0 lead and the momentum firmly on our side when weather forced the tournament to be canceled. With the tournament unable to continue, the final standings were determined based on where teams stood when play began.

So, we’ll proudly take that 3rd-place Gold Bracket finish — but Coach Horbs x2 are pretty confident these girls had a LOT more left to give. 😉

This was the first tournament ever for a team that had never played together before, and the way these new Widows came together was something special.
We couldn’t be more proud of what they produced this weekend. ❤️🖤

The chemistry is building.

The confidence is growing.

And if this is what they can do in Tournament #1…
we can’t wait to see what happens next! 🕷️🔥

Watch out for the Widows! We bite!

📅 Stay tuned for our next tournament schedule — Saturday, 9/19!

Shout out to team mom: Courtnie Mackey for taking photos and videos of all our girls! Especially for the Horbs crew who is on the field with the girls and can’t pull out their phones when their own is playing!

- You’ll find her behind the plate like a wall, making sure to mow over any runs coming in.

- But watch out she’s sneaky on the bases too. Blink and you’ll miss her, but you’ll find her again, dirty at home plate from diving in!

Is that Lightning McQueen? Kaaaaachow!

Happy birthday Krislyn! Keep shining!
