A huge thank you to the Deloitte team for spending their National Impact Day with the YMCA of Greater Charlotte. 💙

Last week, their volunteers rolled up their sleeves at one of our program centers and made a lasting impact by removing bamboo, painting picnic tables, spreading mulch, digging irrigation lines, and building new garden beds.

May is Water Safety Month 💧—a time to raise awareness and help families build the skills that save lives.

Drowning is a leading cause of death for young children, and right here in Mecklenburg County, the need for water safety education is critical.

That’s why the YMCA is partnering with Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation to host Water Safety Together on May 16.
Children ages 6–17 will:
💧 Practice safety skills in the water with swim instructors
🦺 Learn how to properly wear a life jacket
❤️ Experience a CPR demo (for older youth and teens)

Choose a 45-minute session at one of two locations:
📍 Johnston YMCA (12:00 or 1:30 p.m.)
📍 Double Oaks Family Aquatic Center (12:00 or 1:30 p.m.)
