There are many reasons for why I choose to run, but this past weekend was a reminder of what makes it extra special to me and seeing its impacts.

Thanks to Queen City Mother Runners 👑 for hosting the Stroller Mile. This event brought a community of parents and caretakers together to do something they love, RUN.

Some of the reasons behind my why, that I was reminded of this weekend include:
🧑‍🧑‍🧒 Time spent together as a family
🏃‍♀️ Role model for my son
📣 Community to cheer you on for support
🏅 Celebrate achievements for doing HARD things

Hayes was SO excited to run in the kids race. I had a proud parent moment when he ran all the way through the finish line at the end. 🤣

After the race, he talked about being healthy and strong to run, and even started drawing up a race route! He said, “Ok, you got it?” to make sure I was ready to go (thank you Coach Hayes). This was a powerful reminder of how influential our actions can be.

Maybe it’s for running, or something different, but I’m curious, what is YOUR WHY? Who or what holds you accountable and encourages you? I’d love to hear, leave a comment below. ⬇️

My 5k trail race this past weekend had me questioning all of my life decisions. 😅🥵

Beat the heat, takes on a whole new meaning for someone who struggles in the summer and enjoys the cooler months.

I’m trying to not let the summer heat hold me completely back from the things I enjoy, like running, hiking, and outdoor activities. It might just take a little more planning and adjusting expectations.

So, I wanted to share 5 things that are helping me to continue running, even throughout the summer.

Swipe ↔️ for the full list, and let me know which one you find to be the most helpful!

What outdoor activities are you enjoying this summer? And most importantly, how are you staying cool?! ⬇️

My first half marathon was the Savannah Women's Half, 7 years ago in 2019. Running a half marathon had always been on my bucket list, but if I am being totally honest, I signed-up to "get in shape" for my wedding that year.

🏃‍♀️ What I focused on while training: Running.
🚫 What I did NOT focus on while training: Mindset, cross training, mobility, strength, backup plans (life happens), and the actual logistics of preparing before and on race day.

While I completed the race and felt that sense of accomplishment, I also left with a very sore and tired body, and saying, "I am never doing that again."

In two weeks, I am heading into my FIFTH half marathon. I am feeling stronger, better prepared, mentally ready, and my body actually feels GOOD after my training runs.

Many runners focus on pace, distance, and mileage. But, the missing piece for a lot of athletes is mobility, recovery, and mindset.

This is where yoga comes in.

Join me for Yoga for Runners: Mobility & Mindset, where we’ll explore how yoga can help you:
✔️ Build stability and strength that supports your stride
✔️ Recover faster between runs
✔️ Use breathwork to stay calm and focused on your runs and race day

Whether you're preparing for a race or simply want to feel better in your body while running, this workshop will give you practical tools you can take straight to the road or trail.

Walking out of 2025 ✌️

It was a good year.
It was a year of learning, of being just a little softer, of just being.

Slowing down and taking one step at a time is exactly what I needed. I’m looking forward to what this reset and reflection brings to 2026. 💫

According to my son’s dinosaur 🦕 Advent Calendar and Bobby the Elf, there’s only 3 more days until Christmas.

This past weekend, we went tubing for the first time and this fun winter event was actually at the wedding venue my husband and I got married at! It was a walk down memory lane to visit again almost 7 years later, and this time, with Hayes, making it extra special. ✨❄️

Wishing everyone the happiest of holidays!
