Meet Carole Kamel, the newest Personal Trainer at the MUSC Wellness Center!
Originally from Lebanon, Carole brings over 15 years of experience in personal training and injury rehabilitation. She also lived in France, where she worked with elite athletes and continued growing her passion for health and fitness. Carole earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Sports Physiology and Nutrition and believes that the combination of exercise and nutrition is the foundation for long-term success.
Fun fact: Carole was a member of the Lebanese National Basketball Team!
Her favorite reminder for clients is, "It's never too late to start your fitness journey." When she's not training clients, you can usually find her at the beach or spending time with friends.

The MUSC Wellness Center team recently traveled to the World Parkinson Congress in Phoenix, Arizona to debut Pick It Up for Parkinson's! Pick It Up (PIU) is an exercise program designed to instruct individuals with Parkinson's Disease how to successfully play pickleball safely in the community.
Dr. Vanessa Hinson from the MUSC Movement Disorders Program and Cindi Day, Kevin Smuniewski, and Abby Ramsey from the MUSC Wellness Center are the co-founders of the program and of the curriculum that will enable others to become certified with the coaching techniques of PIU to teach PwPD in their community.
If you are interested in becoming a certified PIU coach, click the link below to fill out an interest form. As soon as the course goes live, you will receive information on how to get certified. You can also reach out to Cindi Day at [email protected]

Join us in congratulating Kathleen Wilson, swim Instructor at the MUSC Wellness Center, on an incredible accomplishment!
On June 9, Kathleen swam the Cozumel channel, between Cozumel and the Mexican mainland, battling strong currents, rough seas, and a 20+ mile route. Starting at 5:30 a.m., she powered through the swim and reached the mainland in an impressive 7 hours and 3 minutes.
Way to go, Kathleen!
